What graphics software do you use?

If you create artwork on a checkered transparent background and save it as a png file, you should get a Deviantart green background once it is uploaded to Deviantart. I believe it has to be at original size to show the green background here.

I did that, but somehow the background ended up being black when I submitted it.

I know. It's the way Deviantart resizes images that makes the background black. But when the user hits download a deviantart green background should appear.
Your way of coloring the background green is the easiest.

No problem.
Reason is, at first I thought that the watermark makes it hard for some to let the viewers to enjoy it better. That was until one of my friend placed it for a good reason:
1: To show everyone who actually made that art.
2: To prevent art thefts to steal and take credit make others think they did it and not the real artist. (Ex. You drew a good picture and someone takes it and show it to others and claim that he/she did it and not you)
Trust me...having someone stealing your art and then claim that it's theirs is not cool.
