~ Beebleberries!

~ I'm actually a vegan, so I don't eat ice cream... Great, now I want beebleberries. Do you have any?

~ Well, aren't you direct! I like that...

~ Wow. Buzz kill... Yeah, but only really bad people... and a few annoying people...

~ Let me guess, the Jedi Council sent you? Do I look like I'm suffering?

~ Maybe...

~ They wouldn't be secrets anymore if I did.

~ warm but not sweaty, toned but not bulky muscles, can move to a rhythm... smooth skin is preferable... Wait, what was the question?

~ I have a few close friends, but I'm going to go with Fern. She's like family to me.

~ Fernopatrix Zire. She's a Jedi too.
What are your hobbies?
~ Dancing! I love to dance! I'm also a bit of an adrenaline junkie; I like racing and climbing and swimming and pretty much anything that gets my heart pounding.
What is your favorite drink?
~ Manellan Jasper
When is your birthday?
~ I was actually born on Life Day. Yeah, I'm jolly like that.
Are you naughty or nice?
~ Wow... I didn't see that one coming.... (rolls eyes).
Care to answer?
~ Naughty. (wink)
Are you social or shy?
~ Definitely social. I'm not a big fan of being alone.
And yet, my sources tell me that you live alone, not at a Jedi Temple. Care to explain?
~ Being in a room full of self-righteous monks is WAY worse than being alone.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
~ Probably the Jedi Master who trained me, Raas Haren, and Fern. Unlike most Jedi, Raas understands me without judging me and Fern is like a protective big sister to me.
What kind of future do you think you would have if you hadn't met them?
~ I probably wouldn't be a Jedi. Fern has convinced me to stay more than a few times and Raas gives me hope that even older Jedi are capable of learning new tricks.
What do you think of your parents?
~ They're fine. Dad's a workaholic and Mom is a socialite.
Do you have a complicated family? Describe your family life, if either a yes or no.
~ Not really. Me leaving Ryloth to become a Jedi actually was a good thing. Dad thought the Jedi would keep me from getting into trouble and Mom loved being able to brag about her daughter being a Jedi. They check on me from time to time.
What's your weakness?
~ My morality. I can't begin to tell you how many times "the right thing to do" has ruined what could've been very awesome weekends. Regret and remorse are stinky though, so I can't just say "no" whenever something needs to be done.
Also, you could say that a good beat is something that I have a weakness for. I'm sure it sounds crazy, but if there is a good beat playing within ear shot, I just have to dance to it.
What do you do on a regular basis?
~ Watch the sunrise. It's a cliché, I know, but the sun never rises or sets on Ryloth. It simply stays at one point in the sky. So, sunrises are quite exotic and beautiful to my eyes.
What's your favorite band?
~ Pull My Lekku! They really know how to ride a good beat!
Ever worn a dress?
~ Plenty! Would you like to see me in one? (wink)
What do you consider fun during the day?
~ Sleeping. Fun is for when the sun goes down. Mornings are evil.
At night?
~ Playing music, dancing, partying, and being adored by as many eyes as possible.
What does the Jedi Council think of your... social nature?
~ Attachment is forbidden, but not passion. I might not be waking up in the same bed every morning, but I don't stick around for morning java. I'm not looking for attachment. I'm looking for fun.

~ Bwahahahahahahaha! (spits drink at interviewer).

~ Kesa. Although, there is a bartender who likes calling me Ruby.

~ Happy.
If you were a superhero, you'd be...?
~ A Jedi Shadow! Oh, wait...
What is your current occupation?
~ I'm a Jedi Shadow - a superhero! Actually, being a Jedi isn't really a job so much as a lifestyle. You could say that my occupation is a dancer. Sometimes I get hired to perform for the high and mighty of galactic society. That's how I afford my apartment, entertaining. I also deal in crystal trade from time to time.
Who do you know that bugs you?
~ I'll probably get a lot of grief for answering that one.

~ Maybe...

~ Okay, I'm on to you. You're just trying to get me to take my clothes off. Not cool. Let me give you some advice: Sweet talking doesn't work on me, so manipulative talking is just annoying.

~ Not anymore. Learn how to conduct a proper interview and then get back to me. Your questions are all over the place!
If there was one thing that you could change about yourself, anything at all, what would it be and why?
~ I think it would be really cool to breathe in outer space. Why? Because most spacesuit helmets don't account for lekku.
What's your favorite place in the entire galaxy?
~ The Floating Rock Gardens on Ryloth. As a kid, I used to go there and pretend that I was a Jedi lifting the rocks with the Force. It figures I'd end up becoming a real Jedi. I still like to go back there though. So... secluded.
Fourth Wall Break! What's your favorite thing about Star Wars?
~ Oohhhh, definitely the cosplay!
Do you cosplay?
~ Occasionally.
Do you have any photos of your cosplay?
~ No, but I'm considering doing a cosplay photo shoot. This shoot was a lot of fun.

I have to say it's only in these pictures with the red curtain behind her, that she looks pinkish light red - like an altered Lethan. Because the rare genetic mutation is bright red (the proper usage of Lethan). Twi'lek colour wheel: twileklore.nimanet.org/?page_i…
In other pictures she looks Darian = Brown or Tolian = Orange. In the talk pages she looks light brownish peach (tan) like Koyi Mateil in this picture - 68.media.tumblr.com/22a3411787…
But I guess it's just the lighting? Nice lighting by the way. Anyway I was just observing, not criticising.

Kesarah has the same problem that Barriss Offee has, in that her skin's hue has a very low saturation level, so the lighting can be quite dynamic in altering the appearance of her skin's color. If I was to dial up the saturation of her skin texture, she would be red with a slightly orange tint.
One thing that I do not think people explore often enough is paleness. I cannot see any reason why races such as Mirialans, Togrutans, Twi'leks, or any other colorful species cannot tan in the sun, or become pale in the shade. Kesarah is not an outdoorsy girl. She spends most of her time inside, so I thought it would make sense for her to be pale, even if she is a lethan. That is just my thought on the matter.

Yikes this is old. This is my 2nd 3D version of Kesa and needless to say, she didn't last lol. I think I only made six or so images of this version before I gave her the axe and went back to the drawing board. I think I might redo this same render but with the new Kesarah that I've been using. The image might be old, but the description is still good imho.

I'm really glad you enjoy her. It's always fun to be riding a train of inspiration, but it's infinitely more fun when other people are enjoying the same ride.

It's interesting to see how much you've progressed over the years, while this is still good, it's clear in your later pictures that you've learned a lot.

This is the most hilarious interview I'v read in a long time, lol! Wonderful wild child comments, and ones that leave "thing" for pondering. I think I just found that interview for the Maxim cover, although I might change it up a little.

I had so much fun writing that interview. As an experienced writer, I'm very used to entering the mindset of my characters, so I could just answer the questions in a very organic manner. I still laugh when I come across the touch question lol.
I'm really glad that you like the renders. There's so much about them that are directly influenced by your artwork. The method in which I implement lekku and the way I posed them are direct results of your artwork. So, pat yourself on the back.

Umm.... no? I didn't realize that Twi'lek pinup art is dark. I even have a good laugh every time I read through the interview I wrote for her in the description.

Strictly critiquing the art itself, I really like the pose. It's casual, kind of sexual but not over doing it. The boots, gloves and the skirt seem to move and lay properly with the body. But the top is catching my eye not because its attractive or appealing but because to me it looks like the program is not bending or moving the fabric with the contours of her body. Her face at first glance seems rather plain, which is fine (not all women have a model's looks) but the more you look over the drawing the more she seems to draw you in and you start to gain a feeling of attractiveness. Overall I like this piece, I just feel that the top needs to lay better or form with the character more. Looking forward to seeing more of this character, keep up the good work!

I totally agree with you about the top. It's rather annoying to fight with to get it to look proper. Looking at this render again, my struggle with it is definitely in the foreground. Thanks for pointing that out. I have a new look for Kesarah that I'm putting together slowly and you can count on that top not joining the new style. I may redo this render just swapping out the old top with the new one.
I like what you said about her slowly drawing in the viewer. I was going for a non-traditional beauty and it sounds like I got that right. Thanks for the compliments and constructive feedback!

I tried googling some pics of a girl sitting in a similar pose with similar clothing on to show as an example of how the top should contour more to her body but what a pain in the ass that turned out to be. I really like the pose honestly. Like I mentioned before too that she's starting to grow in attractiveness one me even though she has a rather plain or average face (kind of like a girl next door look). Looking at the scenery or background, the floor seems to go well and shows detail well. The curtains however don't seem to blend well. I like the color of the curtains, just the curtains themselves don't seem to meld with the whole picture that well. Even her skin color and markings look very well done. I'm going to look through your gallery and look again at your pieces featuring Kesarah. Oh and the lightsaber is done well for this piece too.
I feel like I'm picking a part your work but I hope you're not insulted by it, merely just trying to point out areas that could be improved. Like I said, I'm starting to grow on this character and I am looking forward to seeing more of her. You're getting really good using the program, its just sometimes parts of clothing don't always come out blending or moving the way they should.

I just updated the picture.
The pose is really hurting the body shape in that area from this specific POV to be honest, but that last top was annoying. Your comment was just the final straw that broke the camel's back. I just didn't want to deal with it or look at it anymore, so there you go
The curtains could probably be better. To be honest, I spent maybe two minutes on them. The render isn't intended to have much of a wow factor and I cared a lot more about the floor than the curtains.

Well you know what they say, when an actual top won't work on a Twi'lek, just give her a sports bra! lol The new top definitely looks better and flows better with the body. Color is a little off matching her skirt (yes I am knit-picking and giving you a hard time lol). I noticed the lightsaber has moved as well. Don't be discouraged. I think I speak for all your fans that you do fantastic work. And you're right, when we give you criticism, we're only trying to help you become better and help point adjustments you can make to improve your work. We're not doing it to be assholes, well most of us anyway

That's what I get for rushing a fix. I applied the same materials to the top as the skirt, but forgot to match up the specular and diffuse settings 
I moved the lightsaber because I didn't like the previous angle. If I'm going back in to change one thing, I might as well address other after thoughts that I had, right?
You seem to be really warming up to Kesarah. I'm glad! She's one of my newer OC's and I was genuinely afraid that she'd fizzle and be forgotten just like my last Twi'lek OC, Alaira. I have a to-do list of renders and projects that I intend to do. Not everything on the list comes to fruition, but I do have two items still on the list for Kesa. One is a mini comic and the other is a faux magazine cover. Also, this render is one of four that I made. I chose the one that I liked most, but I suppose I could upload the set. We'll see what sort of draw this render gets. If people seem to really like it, I'll upload the rest.
While I don't do commissions anymore, I'm always open to other people's ideas and suggestions.

The faux magazine cover is just a fake magazine cover based on real ones. For this example, it would be an image of the front cover of Cosmopolitan or Maxim with Kesa on the front.
Most computers these days can handle Daz Studio. I don't have the best computer that money can buy, but it is certainly better than average.

We'll see. I have a lot of stuff that I'm working on and I have a few commissions that I need to get some progress on. Kesa is dancing around my inspiration lately, so I'm sure there will be more of her in the near future regardless. I'm really glad that you like her.
I intend to upgrade to an intel processor at some point. I'm trying to keep my head above water with college debt right now though, so I'm in a "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" state of frugality.
Daz Studio is a great program and very user friendly. On top of that, it's free! Granted, you have to make the 3D resources yourself or buy them from the store, but the program being free is a big bonus compared to its competitors.
