Affleck is the heir to a superhero legacy forged between 2005 and 2012 by Christian Bale in the big box-office saga "The Dark Knight."
The new film, as yet untitled but scheduled to premiere on July 17, 2015, is being designed by Zack Snyder, the director who relaunched Superman on the big screen with "Man of Steel," a production that has garnered some $650 million around the world up to now.
This will be the first time that Superman and Batman, the insuperable superheroes created by DC Comics, will meet as equals in a feature film.
Henry Cavill will continue in his "Man of Steel" role as Clark Kent/Superman.
Well-known actors from from the first "Man of Steel" movie, like Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, will also be back for the sequel.
The reaction from fans of the franchise, however, was less enthusiastic.
The term #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck was the top trending Twitter hash tag on Friday, with scores of users suggesting that just about anyone would have been a better pick for the role.
Affleck's "Argo," which he starred in and directed, won the Academy Award for best picture earlier this year.
And yet you complain? I bet you will go to see the movie, no matter what happens.

Some fans don't like the idea and it's because of Daredevil. It wasn't Ben Affleck's fault, it was the bad dialog written in bad writing and a bad director. And Ben Affleck was doing as he was told.

la verdad viejo es que hace años no veo un peli con ben afflect,ni siquiera argo... aunque la que hizo de delincuente en boston me parece que lo hizo bien que esa vi en la tele.el es mas comedia...
me parece que el que hizo de heredero de batman en la ultima hubiera sido mejor ya que lo vi en una de ciclista y en inception no lo hace tan mal en pelis acción!!!

Jajajaja si si vi la encuesta. En Argo es un buen papel, le falta acción, cierto pero vale la pena la interpretación. Ahora, Batman no estará nominada a un Oscar como mejor película. Creo que buscan y ven en Affleck el papel menos indicado. Yo prefiero esperar a criticar sin sentido. De todos modos ya lo confirmaron.

Andas...Es un buen argumento, pero si hubieras visto Argo, la expresión vacía en su rostro, la desesperación y frustración, más esa ligera chispa de "intensidad"... Tiempo al tiempo. Yo creo que será una GRAN pelí. No ganadora de Oscar, pero al menos competirá vs Marvel y los X-Men/Avengers

This whole thing really is a 'wait and see' scenario. Nobody's likely to listen to all these roaring fan-boys (and I use that term loosely) complainants about who's playing batman. Though I would like to see a list of other actors people think would be better then Ben Affleck, instead of them saying "anyone else".
