The thought of being able to connect with other gros again was exciting to Ira. He was proud of himself to step a bit out of his comfort zone, to have found Chase when he did-- that especially he's thankful for. So there he stood making idle chatter with the ling as the two of them waited for their teammates. Though... something kinda felt off to Ira about it, a weird creeping in the back of his head that things were going a bit too well for him right now. He struck it down as nerves mostly, and not wanting to appear a nervous wreck he pushed the feelings down quick as soon as they fluttered up again.

It wasn't till Clover came bounding over with Finnegan in tow that he realized exactly why his gut feeling was acting up.

The yellow gro announced her companion as the two got closer to them, Chase greeting them with a smile and a friendly wave. Ira couldn't take his eyes off Finn as a lump formed in his throat.

And they looked at him with such contempt in their eyes before they yelled out, "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME HE'D BE ON THE TEAM!"

Their wings puffing out causing some feathers to shake free as they gestured to him. Clover and Chase were taken aback and in reality... not entirely grasping what had happened to cause such a reaction. But Ira knew all too well obviously so. He stood there, nervously scratching at the back of his head as he averted his gaze to literally anywhere else and forget what had just happened.

Chii bless these two they don't know how long of a competition this is gonna be.
