Description Goblin Slayer is the eponymous protagonist of the light novel series and successive adaptations (manga and anime).

A very interesting Dark Fantasy series, Goblin Slayer does not focus on legendary heroes tasked with a mission to save the realms but on a young man dedicate to eradicate the threat posed by goblins who are responsible for the death of his older sister.

Even though goblins commit the most hideous acts of violence many adventurers prefer to ignore them and concentrate their efforts on more remunerative quests.

Goblin Slayer is the only skilled adventurer who is willing to hunt down goblins instead of taking care of more “rewarding” missions.

The title I gave to this image is a reference to the series catchphrase “He does not let anyone roll the dice” which is related to the “creation myth” of the series’ world, which tells of gods “rolling dice” to determine the fate of the world. The phrase means Goblin Slayer is the sole controller of his own fate.

The series sparked some controversy over the goblins tendency to commit really heinous acts of violence.
However the series makes clear the goblins are indeed creatures of pure evil and the heroes are actually the only ones willing to protect people from such evil while the rest of the society seems to don’t even care about the victims.

It’s worth to mention the acts committed by those goblins were often committed by real human beings who in the course of out history and tales have been called “noble warriors” and “righteous knights” without anyone rising a voice in defense of their victims.

At least Goblin Slayer series makes clear what is evil and who are the villains and who are the heroes while in our history men who ha been called “heroes” did the same evil things during the course of many wars.

Do you know what “noble knights” did when they conquered villages and cities?
Like I said at least Goblin Slayer makes clear those acts are wrong, something history often forgot to mention.
