god, obviously he has his reasons and all, but that's a seriously bad opening line to deliver to a hawke who is fully prepared to murder anyone who so much as looks at her little sister in a suspicious way, let alone actually get hostile about her. why the fuck would she be remotely willing to associate with someone like this? he's lucky she lets him leave the city alive, because she'd have gutted anyone else as soon as their back was turned to ensure they couldn't tip off the templars.
