It's true, most contemporary history books, at least American ones, to my knowledge don't even bother mentioning it; if they acknowledge it at all it's barely included in a passing sentence expanding on Russia's involvement with Hitler. It's really unfortunate, because the United States at the time was, while not officially capable of doing anything, very much on Finland's side of the whole thing, and for a while afterward there was a sort of admiring fangirling over Finland from the US, but now it's nearly completely ignored. I didn't even know it had occurred at all until I started looking into Finnish history in the first place.

Finland's bravery needs to be in our standard history books. They took on a foe bigger than the Third Reich, for crying out loud.
And it is stupid that the USA didn't help Finland (even though they supported the country). Why not help them? The Soviets didn't have nukes then.
Then they (USA) allied with the USSR, let it take half of Europe, started the Cold War, etc. We know how that went.
