Description

This is Raquelle’s first version (2011-2013).

This was so much fun, months ago I was cleaning my room and “rediscovered” my old art box. There I found old drawings, back then I didn’t have Paint Tool Sai, so I literally drew everything on paper. I was a huge fan of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. I remember the first time I saw the Black Canary on screen, she immediately became my favourite superhero of all time! My first OC is sort of Raquelle, she had a different name back then.

Loving the Black Canary so much I took a lot of inspiration from her for my OC. Later (when Young Justice came out) I changed my OC’s name to Raquelle, I was watching “Shake It UP” and Rocky’s real name was Raquel, the name just stayed with me and I really liked it.

When Young Justice came out I was immediately hooked. Not much has changed for Raquelle though, she was still Laurels little sister and an excellent martial artist. It’s only after Young Justice got cancelled that I started changing my OC so much. She looks almost nothing like she used to. (I never really shared a lot of drawings of Raquelle though )

This little project has just begun, but it took me some time to finish the first version. I had to search through everything to get Raquelle’s Young Justice looks and story (yes I actually wrote one as a young teen). The first four outfits are old (I drew them on paper in 2012), the last one is new, I figured due to her originally being an FBI special agent she needs to have a suit.

This is her original story from 2011-13 so season 3 isn’t included.

The first version of Raquelle was a kind and loving person, she cares a lot about the people she loves and can be very protective over them. Like her sister she is a good listener and adviser and is always there if someone needs her. She's very trustworthy and encourages people to open up to her, so she can support and help them. Raquelle is a badass and isn't someone you should mess with if you know what's good for you.

BIO

Raquelle was born into a family of crime fighters. Her mother is Dinah Drake, the original Black Canary and her half-sister Laurel Lance is the current Black Canary. Due to unknown reasons she never knew her biological father. Raquelle always looked up to her half-sister Laurel and wanted to be a crime-fighter herself but was forbidden to do so by her mother.

She was born and raised in Gotham City and went to Gotham Academy. At the age of twelve she secretly got trained by her half-sister and a life-long friend of her mother named Ted Grant a.k.a. Wildcat. At the age of sixteen, she finally joins the team against her mother’s wishes. She became her sister's protégé and therefore took a lot of inspiration for her very own suit from her sister's suit. Needless to say, Raquelle was very excited about being part of the team. She later got romantically involved with Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing (her first bf).

At Gotham Academy, she was quite a popular girl, due to her acrobatic skills the cheerleading squad convinced her to join them. Before she joined the team she never actually met Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) and Dick Grayson (Robin – Nightwing) due to being a year younger. After joining the team she started hanging out with them at school (sometimes), which sometimes upset her friends (them feeling left out).

During the second season of Young Justice Raquelle is in her senior year at Gotham Academy. For her it was a very challenging year, with everything that was going on. During the second season she's thinking about her future, she really wants to go to Quantico, but fears that her going will cost her relationship with Dick.  Raquelle wasn't kidnapped by Aqualad and his team because she was send home that night by Dick. After the lying, betrayal and the death of Wally she eventually graduates from Gotham Academy with distinction and she’s admitted to Quantico (the FBI Academy). She breaks up with Dick duo to trust issues, going to Quantico is a fresh start for her. Being a meta-human, she excelled at certain parts of her training, she graduated once again with distinction.

After she graduated from Quantico she becomes an FBI special agent and moves to Washington D.C. However after living there for three years she moves to New York City. Raquelle never wanted to stay in Gotham City, therefor she chose New York City, it was close to Gotham but different in all stages. In New York City she is forced to work with Dick. (She re-joins the team not short after.) They become partners again and fight crime during day and night. After three more years the two decide to rekindle their romance and get married two years after. Together they have three children (Dale, Dana and Tony).
