A while ago I was considering making a "monster" girls themed calendar set. This was sort of a test to see how long it'd take me to draw a picture with the level of detail I want to have in a calendar. The answer is... way too long. Longer than I'd prefer. Sooo I probably won't have the time, energy or motivation to draw 12 pictures before the end of this year. I shall make an attempt though. It seems like a fun project to keep me productive. Probably? ¯\_(ᐛ)_/¯Anyway, here is a siren. Sirens have been depicted as half-bird women - similar to harpies - and mermaids. I went with the avian portrayal since I might want to draw a fishy mermaid later. Sirens are known for their enchanting singing voice in the myth, so I gave this modern bird lady a chic guitar.
P/s: I scratched my mark on the side of the car. Maybe I will sneakily hid my signature and/or avatar in future pictures like some sort of Easter eggs. I'd amuse me. :P

This looks great, I love the warm colours and all the detail on the girl, like the henna tattoo and all the jewelry! And puffins make everything better, of course. I also like the way you've included your signature^^

Thanks! The henna is one of my favorite details of her design. Originally the colors looked a bit cold, so I messed around with the color curves to make it look more retro/summery.
I gotta find more in-universe way to add my signature now!

Thanks! The puffins are one of the last additions to the drawing. I was going to go with seagull at first but puffin looks cuter.

The rusty car is my favorite part. I don't like drawing cars in particular (or anything with a lot of straight lines like buildings and machines, tbh); but abandoned garbage of humanity make for a cool contrast with nature.

Yes, Im the same way with cars and stuff like that. I been meaning to start drawing more outdoorsy stuff, but I haven't been going outside much or at all.

Thanks! Once I decided that the siren will have a guitar, giving her a gypsy/hippy style seemed like a natural choice.
