Updated: Since this script broke long, long ago, deviantArt developers have integrated this functionality into the core so there's no need for this script anymore. This script and the attention it got was probably one of the reasons for that move, so I'm proud of that and thank you to all.

version 1.0.7 (December 30th 2010)

This script adds two buttons to your latest journal entry that is shown on your profile page. One takes you to the New Journal Entry page and the second one takes you to the page where you can edit the try (sorry...the text in the screenshot might be misleading causing you to think that it allows inline edit)

- Wasn't showing up because of a tiny error in syntax (last line, extra brace) (v1.0.7)
- Removed the fakelink thing, didn't remember that it was possible to include variables using "+" in the innerHTM (v1.0.6)
- Changed the div adding code, also implemented an update code (now it will notify you if there is an update) (v1.0.5)
- Solved some unusual problem which caused the buttons to not appear (v1.0.3) [post-v7 update]
- Solved the New Button problem. (v1.0.2)

About this Script
This script was made because I felt like I wasn't using the journal because of the missing buttons Let's see if this works now.
I do think the code is a bit jumbled up but I don't think there are much lines to save, safe to say it doesn't have any error.

Does almost the same function (except the "New" button) but animation looks nicer IMO
