Description Memories Collector #009: Gema and the feather of her costume.

New photographic portrait series. Memories are not physical, and that forces us to retain them in objects as a fetichist way of remembrance.

Series shot through a painted glass: the cold veil in between reality and our memories. We are in the other side, with the item that makes us remember the another side.

I asked every participant in the series before the shots to think about any memory they may had: good, bad, happy, strange... and to come to the session with an object they were saving from that situation. Then I choose my colour palette, paint the glas, and photograph them through the other side.

I'd love to make a really BIG series out of this, to collect a lot of memories from many people and create a giant mosaic with these pics

Model: Gema Carbonell Lloreda. She brought a feather from a costume she used when she was a child. Nowadays, she still uses that feather in most of her new costumes.

Really like your use of colour and the way you overlay and layer your work. Nice style.

Great concept, strong idea, for me this one is overwhelming ; the red & blue contrast builds anew face. The feather is nearly invisible, I saw it when I read the description, well integrated.
Enormous presence of this woman by a punchy saturation, the black reinforces elegance Gema's showing.
We have little details and in the same time hard expression, for me the DD was there. Respect !

Thank you very much for your words...!
For me this photo was one of the weakest of the full series... but it seems it is people's favourite, I seem to swim against the flow lol

New favourite! I just LOVE how the fronds of the feather compliment the drips of the paint.

I have really enjoyed your Memories Collector Series. The concept behind your photography is brilliant. Since i have been on DA for over 3 years you have stood out as one of my favorite artists. Never stop challenging yourself because you really don't have any limitations.
