I FINISHED HIM!! Finally! *falls over*I've only been working off and on on this picture for most of this past year, and I wanted to finish him before 2011. It's only Dec 30, right??
I would greatly appreciate critique on this piece. He's going into my portfolio and I want to do another similar of my dragon Rathan, SKiiethl's brother. I would like to know what I did good, what I did bad, what I can improve on (even though there's always room for improvement XD) so that I can try to do better on the next.
Some notes:
* He's supposed to be really lean in the torso cavity. He has no functioning organs so the chest cavity collapsed around the open space.
* I tried to do his armored scales logically to how he moves. He has heavy armor scales but he's also very flexible. Thus he has the smaller more durable scales along his limb joints, insides of his legs and wings and along his belly.
* Yes, I will be flat coloring this for his reference picture

Whoa, that's a lot of detail! I think the scales look great and the way they're placed on the dragon's body is very sensible.
The right back foot seems to be placed a bit high. It now looks like it's standing on the tailspikes. There's also something going on with the wing which is partially hidden behind the other wing; it does not look like the part of the finger on one side of the wing in front of it correctly lines up with the part on the other side (sorry for the clumsy explanation, I hope it's clear enough).
