Description My first serious attempt at astrophotography, not bad, eh? Taken with my Nikon D200 and Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4. RAW import with PS CS with a little bit of tinkering to get the colour and contrast right. Enjoy

Thank you very much, the secret is lots of patience and experimentation, I can send you the quick "howto" as well if you like

Patience has never been my strong suit... No wonder I was kicked out of the Jedi acadamy.

It is very nice indeed! Although, it's rotated 180 degrees from the way most folks are used to seeing it in pictures. Not that there's really an "up" in space.

Well, I'm really making an assumption here as this is how I see the moon, quite freaky when you think about it.

I'm sure you're probably right... It would make sense, I guess, since in a way, when you look up at the moon, you'd be "upside-down" from my point of view...

Still something that never really occurred to me...

By the way, if you don't mind, I wouldn't mind reading through your how-to on this. I've tried moon shots before and gotten some decent stuff, except that I don't own anything with quite enough magnification to give me such a well-magnified view (for the moment ) I don't think...

why can't i do such a good shot of a moon?

I used to say that until I got this, all it took was a little experimentation and now I get consistently good shots of the Moon. I did write a little how to for someone, I'll see if I can dig it up and send it to you too. Thanks for the comments
