Vodnik is part of slavic mythology, the one you can see is czech and slovak version of him (or at least how i remember him). he is usually dressed in green with top hat and long green hair. he lives underwater and collects souls of drown people in small porcelain cups.
in english - vodyanoy, but i don't like this translation, because vodyanoy is common word for more water mythical creatures, not just this concrete one.

He's amazing. It's my favorit mythical creature (next to čert). Did you put this design on some site with t-shirts? I'd love to wear this. I like to think of him as a lonely creature who wants others to play with him and doesn't realize that it kills them when he takes them underwater, so he keeps their souls as company at least. Kinda psychopatic, but I'd like to write a story about it some day.

...and sure it's psychopatic, if you think about it that way, but that's what makes it interesting, right?

Oh wow that is amazing! What a great mythical being. I really like your porcelain cups. He looks like such a happy collector you wouldn't think he was being a little evil while doing it. I mean keeping souls and not letting them free is pretty evil in a way.

yes, you're right, he has too innocent smile here. there are more versions of him, in some of them he even drown people on purpose so he can have their souls. (but also there are versions where he is good and doesn't hurt anybody, but they are not authentic, it's the same like good vampires who don't drink blood)
