Description

"July 15, 1999: After four years of dormancy, the third Godzilla – formerly known as “Junior” – has arisen from the ocean. Absorbing the rampant radiation from his father’s liquefied remains after his final battle with Destoroyah in 1995, Junior quietly returned to the sea, swiftly mutating and changing even as he vanished beneath the waves.

His new appearance is radically different from his father’s. With a longer snout, more slender build, and long, jagged spines, this Godzilla seems somewhat less aggressive towards humans than his father. Despite this, he is still capable of incredible destruction – as he is currently proving with his destruction of much of Shinjuku. Still, he only came ashore to combat the mysterious extraterrestrial craft currently perched atop Tokyo Opera City Tower…"

Reality Check: this is Godzilla from "Godzilla 2000". I do not own the rights, Toho does, etc etc...

What exactly is the personality and "intelligence" of the various godzillas in comparison to each other and other long lasting standing monsters?

Gojirans are generally stubborn, proud, fearless, and have real anger issues. In terms of intelligence, measuring it has never been really successful. They have an uncanny means of seeming to know things they probably shouldn't be able to know, but can still be led into traps. They can be driven berserk with an overdose of radiation.

-Gojira (Godzilla 1) is an unbelievably tough and MEAN old bastard. He is in constant pain, has absolutely zero interest in forgiving humanity for leaving him in such a state, and will stop at nothing to destroy every last remnant of humanity. His anger is so great he killed the possessed King Ghidorah in 2001, and Mothra at the same time. The souls of the Pacific War dead didn't possess his body - effectively, he swallowed them whole to regain his power. During his time in Kiryu, he actually seemed to be approaching something resembling redemption, but he ultimately rejected it. Gojira will NEVER stop trying to wipe out humanity, but he will show mercy to his fellow Gojirans - briefly. His saving Junior as Kiryu was a testament to his last shred of memory of his own son. If Junior tries fighting Gojira again, Gojira will kill him.

-Godzilla (Godzilla 2) is the son of Gojira, and somewhat less stubborn and angry than his father. He ultimately forgave humanity, but only because he saw them as worthy allies against even worse invaders. Junior is his adopted son. He grew somewhat shell-shocked with age and constant war, and largely sought solitude after Monster Island was destroyed in 1972.

-Junior, aka Godzilla (Godzilla 3) is the mellowest of the three, having never been hurt as badly by humanity as his father and uncle. He'll crush a city to get to where he wants, but won't try to kill everyone in his path.

What does a non-mutated adult gojiran look like? Are they natural kaiju or simply large semi-aquatic "dinosaurs?"

-Gojira: Was he already a kaiju before the radiation or did he become one? How has he maintained his mind after being killed twice, three times if you count the fall into the ocean as Kiryu?

-Godzilla: Where did he come from exactly? Was he simply another member of the species that was mutated or is he related to Gojira?

-Junior: Why didn't he fight Shin and the Breacher Kaij when their events came around?

Side question I remember you mentioning in a comment that the attempts to change time in Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah prevented Planet of Monsters so which gojiran became Godzilla Earth?

Non-mutated Gojirans look... not much different, really. Since they feed on radiation, each Gojiran mutates a bit throughout its lifespan. Gojira basically got pushed into the "Burning" phase without the normal controls that Gojirans have to relieve the worst of the pain that comes with Burning, putting him in constant screaming pain. Nobody knows how Gojira retained his mind after death, though sheer berserk willpower's the best bet. As I said, Godzilla is Gojira's son, and was mutated to a similar extent, though not as badly as his father. Junior never fought Shin or the breach kaiju because the former has all sorts of nasty memories attributed to him - plus, Shin Gojira would have added Junior to his "shit list", so even if Junior won, Shin would eventually return and kill him - and the likelihood of Junior's victory is slim at best. None of the Monsterland kaiju have gone out of their way to hunt down a breach kaiju, and the breach kaiju don't really seem to trigger their defensive instincts for some unknown reason. The only exception was a Category 3 that wandered onto Monsterland at one point... but that was a bit like walking facefirst into a woodchipper; the largest things they ever found were a few bone fragments.

And Godzilla Earth was the third Godzilla.
