Description
A piece I've been meaning to repaint for almost a year now, and finally pushed myself into it. It suits the frigid, gloomy weather we've been having lately, heh. Faeren and Morgan, in a scene that may or may not happen in the books. A collab effort between myself and the talented ~SB-Gothic (she painted the lovely awesome snowy trees in the background!) ^___^ A vast improvement over the original painting done in 2003... *shudders*You can learn more about Faeren, Morgan and "The Wars of Avenan" storyline here: [link]

The first time I saw this picture a few mounth ago I was impressed so much, that I posted your work in my diary along with one song I found another day... I just have a simple hobby to pick up a music for a beatiful pictures to express my feelings, but that time the combination I have found touched not only me, but a few other people too... And then I thought that may be you'll like it too, so I decided to send you this song. I don't actually know if you'll like it (you're author after all, you might have another vision for your work), but I thought I should try. At first sight it doesn't even look suit the picture, but the more I listen the more I can feel that story, which is shimmering with a lot of different emotions.

So with the original vs. this updated version, did you paint the original and then add to it to create the final piece? Or are they two separate paintings based on one another? This is, by the way, beautiful.

They are two separate paintings based on the same pencil sketch. The first painting was done years ago, back when I was just learning to paint, and the new version was done more recently.

It's worth mentioning, though, that I couldn't tell what that was to his right (the other guy) until I looked at the original version. :\ And I still can't make out anything above that guy's waist...
Still, that's a small complaint compared to how well-done the rest of the painting is. Just a small critique, hope you don't mind!

Indeed, a much better version, but of course! I love the snow effect, and the colours seem a lot more life-like too. Mind you the 2003 one is still amazing to try and imagine and recreate artistically for me! Looking at these helps me understand better how to look at my work and improve on it.
