Description A fisherman, by his crab pot.
What a way to earn his living... I've been watching Deadliest Catch lately (on Discovery Channel), and found it interesting. I'm glad to see people actually wanting to do hard labor work nowadays. Being a farmer girl myself, I'd rather have a hammer in my hand, than a computer any day! It's more than a job, it's a way of living. They seem to genuinely love their job, even if it's tough and dangerous.
That inspired me to do this tribute.
to people out there, doing jobs I would never consider doing!

I've made a series of crabfishing drawings:
Don’t Let Go
Fisherman
Tanner Taxi

Pencils 2H to 4B, size A4, took me about five days. Finished 02. Oct -08. Reference photos from the net.

Thanks a lot!
I kind of dreaded doing the clotes and pot, 'cause I thought it would be a drag, but it worked out rather well. Wasn't as tedious as expected.

Mmmm... salmon

Aw! You have your own style, and are very good at it. I'm sure you could do realism too, if you wanted to. But why do that, when you're doing good as you are Everyone has their own style, that's what makes drawing so fun!

Thanks a lot!
You're from a farm too? I used to have chickens, and I miss them so much. Just to be able to go out and do something productive. To use the hammer a bit, and get dirty. Hehe, I'm such a country girl!

Salmon is my favourite food ever. Soft, juicy, delicious salmon... With lemon and spices, and a good salad on the side
Am I succeeding in tempting you? d:

Oh yes. I've had a real experience with that lately, having started to work on a farm in a rehabilitation programme.
I'm overexcited about everything, using a hammer, feeding sheep, putting together cabinets...
I realise how much I've missed it. That this is what makes me happy.

I guess it's in all of us, the satisfaction in creating things with their own hands. Heh, it's funny how so little can do so much.

Yeah, I'm going to be very busy soon. We are going to move, and the property needs a ton of work! Building fences, planting trees...lots of things to be done.
