I use a white charcoal pencil for some of the highlights. Wherever you see what looks like white pencil strokes (on the pants, on the armor, etc.) that's the charcoal.

They work in different ways. The charcoal pencil isn't as strong as the acrylic pen, but you can get finer details and create more of a texture with it. I like using the charcoal for smooth gradients and for more rendered highlights, and the paint pen for big areas of white or really strong, super bright highlight spots.
