I am wholly completed

This conundrum lasted ages
Caused the darkness in the soul

The elements no longer added
No solution to be found
A missing link in happiness
A synapse with no reaction

I am not an animal
I have cognitive thought
I have morals and responsibility
I am above degradation

Some believe there is a soul
To be given and to be set free
Not to be caged and silent
Or to be enraged and violent

Recognize the right from wrong
Recognize the many mistakes
Take the blame and take the shame
Don’t deny evolutionary course

We are to grow and learn
We are to rise above
We are human for a reason
Ascended with acts of treason

You lower yourself as animal
To lower your so apt standards
They use you for their pleasure
But you’re the biggest user of all
