Feel it before it’s felt
When that empty space emerges
You grasp so tight for hope
Trying so hard to keep sane
When they tear your grip away
Broken fingers from the effort
No one left around to blame

Been mined so deep and dry
Emotionally fray

I hope to those not knowing
To not know what I mean
But everyone can relate
To having shattered dreams
There is no easy patchwork
There can be no repair
But maybe build again
If foundations are properly lain
