You've been so damn awesome good in your photography lately, Doug, that I was kinda lost for words. Still, I'll try.
I cannot know what the exact occasion was when this shot was taken, but it surely wasn't a happy go lucky outing. You catched a sombre, nearly sinister mood here. That car, which is a stand-in of the hearse of yore, that murky profile of whoever it is to the left who follows the proceedings - it's all sad and quite unsettling. Well, these occasions are rarely easy to read, even less so to make sense of. The stark contrasts are incredibly powerful here; I daresay this is a shot that won't be easily forgotten.
Too bad I have to give you highest praise for something that doesn't cry out for admiration.
But, Sir, this is outstanding! Damn, indeed so!
And I rate this one as a classic, it's right up there with the best I've seen in contemporary photography, but also when considering from what is known to me in photography from the past 150 years or so. This I say in all honesty.

Everything adds to the darkness and sadness of the image. Powerful one.

Those…
who are left…
mourning…
Will…
For a time…
Wander…
in the shadows…
of a darker sky.
Great B&W picture Doug…!
