While waiting for their absolutely stunning banner to dry, the Team Beans moved onto other activities. One of which being flower planting and tending. Skittle, somehow, managed to find herself a Brimbee-shaped watering can, much to the delight of the other two children. Iris brought along several books she had related to gardening, her mind set on doing much the same as she had done while they were making the banner - taking a backseat on doing much of the physical work and, instead, giving her two idiot friends directions to follow so they didn't mess everything up.

The flower patch was near the edge of the trees, the forest thinning out into more open fields. The three children could see the lake, where they were due to go swimming later, in the distance. There were few other Wyngrew there when they arrived, most opting to take part in or watch the various plays that were running all day. Pea and Skittle had watched one earlier. It had been a very good show where all three actors used magic to make beautiful effects, but sitting still for too long was pretty difficult for both Pea and Skittle, and they wanted something they could really dig their claws into. Dirt, for example.

Set out ready and waiting were a few ready-grown flowers in those compostable pots meant for holding flowers temporarily before they got planted properly into the ground. "Ohh, look at this," Iris said, looking over on plant. "How beautiful! Odd, my books never said this species could come in this colour..."

Pea and Skittle left Iris to her nerdy fascination with the various flowers available while they planned out how they were going to plant flowers. They decided the dirt path that trailed across the field and down to the lake looked a little bored and lonely and plain, so a few flowers planted on either side would make it look much more lively.

Iris took a spot near the side of the road, her nose buried in one of her books. Occasionally, she would call out various instructions, like "Don't plant those two colours next to each other, this book says it looks terrible in an evening that way!" or "Skittle, I really don't think you need to add THAT much water."

Skittle had opted to use a little spade to help her dig through the dirt. She said that since her skin was such a light colour, getting covered in mucky brown was very, very obvious and she didn't enjoy having to wash it out. Pea didn't know if he had a skin colour that makes mud stand out easily, and quite frankly, he didn't care either way. They were supposed to go swimming, that would clean it all off, right? So, Pea opted for the route he found much, much easier. Digging through the dirt with his two front feet, scraping away the dirt with his claws and tossing it away underneath him, one foot after the other, the same way a wild animal would dig.

Neither Skittle nor Iris paid much attention to this at first, more interested in their own work. Skittle finished placing a flower in the hole and covering it up again with dirt when she next turned over to look at Pea. "Woah! That hole is huge!"

Pea looked over and stopped digging. "Can put SO many flowers in it."

Iris looked over too. "I'm not sure that's how it works..."

"Sure is," Pea said, leaping cleanly over the hole to go get some flowers.

At least, he intended to do that. Instead, he slipped and fell into his massive hole, which, although was very deep, wasn't very wide, and Pea managed to find himself waist-deep, stuck in his own hole. I'm sure you can imagine how that played out.
