Description "This is the place. The Cherrygrove City Pokémart," the boy thought to himself as he stood in front of the Pokémart. He looked down and saw three Pokémon sitting near the door. "A Furret, Granbull and Pidgeotto. Interesting," he said. The Pidgeotto noticed the boy and raised his wing, gesturing a greeting. "Uum, hello," the boy said, and he waved back. It then began making more gestures, as if telling the boy to hurry inside. The boy nodded and went inside the mart. "Good afternoon," he said as he went through the door. Inside, he saw a single clerk behind the counter. A young man with bushy brown hair, wearing average clothes and a green apron. "Those Pokémon outside, are they yours?" he asked. "I felt like that Pidgeotto was rushing me."
The clerk chuckled. "Good afternoon," said the clerk. "Yes, they are mine. And the reason Joe was rushing you is because we're closing up soon." "Really?" the boy asked. "But it's barely 2 pm." "Well, we always close at 2 on Sundays," the clerk replied. "It's Sunday?" the boy scratched his head. "Man, I really lose track of time while traveling." "I could imagine," said the clerk. "You're a trainer too?" the boy asked. "No," the clerk replied, "but my dad is." "Right," the boy said, and then went into one of the aisles of the mart to look for items. After a minute, he stood by the potions aisle looking up at the rack of potions on top. "Hey mister," the boy called. "Please call me Psy," the clerk said, pointing at the name-tag on his apron. "Hey Psy, do you have a ladder or something? I can't reach the Hyper potions." "I'll do you one better," said Psy. "Hey Kirleen, come help this kid out for a minute." "Kirleen?" the boy wondered. Then he turned to his right and saw a Pokémon standing in front of him, that resembled a ballerina. "Oh, a Kirlia," said the boy. Kirleen's eyes began glowing blue, and the Hyper Potions on the top shelf began floating down. The boy took two and said, "I only need two." The rest of the potions floated back to their original spot, and Kirleen's eyes stopped glowing. The boy bowed to the Kirlia. "Thank you," the boy said. The Kirlia did a curtsey in response to the bow, and said,
"You are welcome." The boy startled. "I-it talked!" said the boy with panic in his voice. Both Psy and Kirleen laughed, and Psy said, "Not really. She's a Psychic-type Pokémon, so she can communicate with telepathy." "R-right," said the boy and he calmed down and walked to the counter. "Do you happen to have any letter paper?" "You're in luck," Psy replied. "Just got in a new shipment yesterday." Psy turned to the open door behind the counter. "Hey Luffy!" he yelled. "Could you bring in the new stationery, please?" A Pokémon's cry could be heard coming from the storage room. "Skiploom? Y'know, I couldn't think of weirder Pokémon to help me run a store," said the boy as he saw a green Pokémon with a yellow flower spinning on its head, float through the door of the storage room, carrying different colored sheets of paper and envelopes. "Neither could I," said Psy. He took the paper and envelopes from Luffy, and placed them on the counter. "I'll have the one with Celebi on it," the boy said. Psy put away the other stationery and the boy placed the items he took on the counter. "That'll be 5600 p," Psy said. The boy gave him exact change, and then placed all the items in his backpack. "Ok, now I'm set. Thanks mi- uuh, Psy." "You're welcome, kid. Have a nice day." And the boy left the store. Psy walked up to the door and turned to sign hanging on the door around so the word 'Closed' is shown outside. He turned around and called out to his Kirlia and Skiploom. "Alright Luffy, Kirleen, let's close up for today. The two Pokémon inside nodded and they went to work.
