Description Just a quick painting of Jinny.

This initially was suppose to be Hermione (thus the mass of curly hair) but then I realized I used a reddish-brown for the color... and who says Ginny cant have curly hair???

Awwe that's really pretty! I totally agree, I think her hair can be curly. I actually had an obsession with drawing Ginny with curly hair, since that's the way I preferred it! People used to get angry with me because I made her hair curly. XD but ehh.

I love what you did with her eyes. Even though her eyes are supposed to be brown, I love the green.

It's so funny how people become so attached to a certain way of seeing a character. I think just because her hair was straight in the movies, people want it to stay that way...

Thanks for the lovely comments, very much appreciated!!!!

Probably, but do we ever know what color Ginny's eye color is?

He says in CoS. At the Burrow, he sees a pair of "bright brown eyes" looking at him.

Wow. Her eyes are amazing, but I'm really loving the hair. Did you use vectors? Or is it actually possible to draw that straight without them? XD
More curiosity: what program did you use for this?

This was actually done in Painter X. But I used a tool called Fine Point Pen, and it almost looks like vector, it's a really cool tool

cool! I was really hoping you used Photoshop, so I could learn how to do that too.

Sometimes if you use just a normal round brush in photoshop, and set in on the "wet edges" mode, it can kinda look like that... but that's in CS4, I don't know what version you have

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Though with the beautiful green eyes, I'm seeing more Lily Evans-Potter. Weren't Ginny's eyes brown?

I cant wait to read it, but I am waiting for the movie to come out first, I want to be surprised...but it's so hard to wait! Specially since it got pushed back till summer!!!

I was so upset when they did that! I hate WB sometimes.

From what I've heard of the movie they've changed alot from the book , actually adding in scenes that weren't in the book at all, and there is a scene in the very end where they change some things that to me seem fairly key, so I'm not happy about that either. But then I am a true fan of the books so I get unduly upset about things like that, .

I am both a fan of the books and movies, and feel like I can enjoy them as separate entities. I think people that don't read the books before the movies, enjoy the movies a lot more. That's my strategy anyway

Yeah, I could see that, because then the movies get to stand on their own and you don't come to them with any preconcieved notions of how it should be.

The movies really are totally different entities anyway. I mean just the fact that they aged up the adults so much sort of changes the whole feel in my opinion. I mean, in the movies the actors who play Sirius, Severus and Remus are all in their late forties and fifties, and the ones who play James and Lily at the age of their deaths are in their late thirties, but in the books they were only in their thirties and twenties respectively.

That changes alot of the emotional impact of the story, in my opinion. For instance, it is one thing to imagine a 30 some year old Lily and James fighting Voldemort in the First War and sacrificing themselves to save their baby, and quite another when you realize that they were only in their teens and early twenties (21 when they died).

Of course, being a fanfiction writer I probably think about these things too much, but I like the books and movies for different reasons, I'm just a tad more partial to the books

Really? I didnt know Lilly and James were so young...how sad.

northangel27 In reply to aberry89 [2009-02-05 13:05:46 +0000 UTC]

It was. They were only teenagers when they married (assuming they didn't marry when Lily was already preggers with Harry . We're never told for certain in the books).

Well, I dunno, the 70's...free love and all that...hahaha.

I want to believe they had harry after they were married though. Lilly seems to be someone who would be under control of something like that

northangel27 In reply to aberry89 [2009-02-06 02:34:56 +0000 UTC]

yeah, and especially with James. That didn't really strike me as the kind of relationship where she would get swept away in a moment of unbridled passion and lust and forget her birthcontrol charms .

northangel27 In reply to aberry89 [2009-02-06 13:37:38 +0000 UTC]

I would certainly hope so, or maybe a potion . Suddenly Professor Snape finds himself popular with all the sixth and seventh year girls and doesn't know why . They just want his potions brewing ability . Free birthcontrol potions, here we come!!

Though Snape doesn't really strike me as the sort to give anything away for free...

I think I love both equally. And I sort of see them as two totally different things. The books are so inspirational, and imaginative. But the movies are fun, and I cant wait till the next one!
