Description [EDIT]
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I fixed a couple of the problems that had been mentioned, like the shiny tattoo and the wig-like hair. Thanks to ~gorjuss-stock for the brushes .
[/EDIT]

I'm thinking of making a series in this vein ... any thoughts/suggestions/reality checks?

Background is from Metal Package the good folks at =resurgere .

this is beautiful. was it your intention to make it appear that she's glancing at something that's away from her? if not, i think it would have a greater affect if she appeared to be staring at the viewer.

abequinn In reply to enitsirkk [2005-06-22 04:55:49 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much ... I thought I had gotten her eyes focused at the viewer, but if that's not apparent, maybe I need to go back and tweak it a bit.

Now...I'll tell you what...that piece is STUNNING. The use of lighting in its dramatic way really lends to the softness of her skin. The name, Rusty, whether you intended or not, is a good indicator of the piece's color as it has several rust/sienna colored tones. I think this is a gorgeous work...certainly worth taking the time to view! Thanks for showing it to me!

hey, great job, cheers for coming up with the name and using it in the background. There's something weird going on with her rigth eye, the lower eyelid, it doesn't feel rigth anatomically, but other than that it's simply perfect. Kudos on the lightning and the hair. keep it up

Oh my, she's so beautiful! I love her stare and those deep eyes. And her body- her skin is gorgeous, deep and golden, and I love her curves. In general this is one of the best pieces you've ever done (in my opinion). Absolutely spectacular! Definitely a fav!

I can always count on you for a confidence pick-me-up, Lish! I was getting worried because of all the critical feedback on this one, and I was so pleased with it when I finished it! But I guess the criticism means it's been looked at for more than just a quick second, huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlishAhsilA In reply to abequinn [2005-06-21 13:02:02 +0000 UTC]

You're right, it's good to know that people have taken some time to observe.

But my opinion on critical feedback is more or less split down the middle. I appreciate it, but I also think that people sometimes go out of their way to find something "wrong" or "odd" or "off" to point out. I don't do that because I believe that art, like people, is imperfect. Imperfections give art pieces (again just like people) personality.

I have three things. The tattoo currently looks like one of those ones you put on with water... too shiny I guess. Her hair is looking "wig-like" as someone said in the comments, because she has no sideburns. I know thats a 'man thing', but we women have them too, just longer whispy hairs is all. Last thing is her neck rotation, currently shes either, an owl, has broken vertebre, or spineless. That last one is the most apparent to me, the other two are just nit picking. ;;

abequinn In reply to EmmaEsme [2005-06-18 23:27:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much for the feedback on this one. I took your advice to heart, and I've made some changes. Not a lot I could do about the rotation of her neck (which didn't seem overly extreme to me, but I've gotten a few comments about it), but I did add some more hair around her neck which seems to obscure it to some extent.

EmmaEsme In reply to abequinn [2005-06-19 08:25:18 +0000 UTC]

The tattoo is looking nicer, kinda like Henna. Is there a drop shadow on it or something? It still looks detached, like its floating just above her body. The hair works nicely to conceal that her neck is turning slightly too far. ^^ As for the side burn you added, if you didn't already, go look at some photos of women who have them to get an idea of what they look like. Or if you did already, go do it again. xD Right now it just looks like some weird ghostly shadow thing you painted there, not like hair. It should look just like all the beautiful hair you have on her head.

Hey Adam, if you keep up the good work, I'm sure to watch every work you've made.
The problem is you're making your style too appearent, i.e. you've 37 (and counting) submissions, and beside those vector drawings, most of them are female nudes.
Every one of them vary in terms of presentation, camera placement, technique, and appeal (I HAD to say that)... But can you try to slow down your submission speed (or on the other hand, make a MALE nude for a change). It's just my opinion though. You don't need to conform to it.
(Aww, you should at least have the "mature content" setting on!)
Anyway, great work as always but try focusing on the character her/him-self, as that is the one thing that draws us most. Try changing values of shader nodes, Depthcue or Volumetric Atmosphere the scene. (Will take a longer time to render)
Faved too. Just remember to include "mature content" in your up-coming nudes...

Well, to be honest, I've tried other styles, and they don't really work for me, because I'm not particularly good at them. But I'll definately take your comments into consideration

I't looks great, I only see strange the white light in the left arm and the other white line, this white colours for me don't look well with the ambient color and ilumination.
But your work is very nice at all.

I took a look at your gallery before writing this comment because I wondered if you keep doing this kind of stuff... I couldn't see this work so I think you quit or am I wrong?

I really liked this work. Esspecially the colour combination and the way that she looked. I must say that the tatoo added a great effect too... Hope you will keep it coming!!!

Your welcome... After I wrote the comment I took a close look... I think you sould add a little bit more hair at her right side. It looks like a wig right now and there is a small need of correction at the bottom part of the body but... These cannot stop me from loving it...

This is really cool looking. I'd suggest a little more light around the hair, as it gets lost in the background. Of course, that might be deliberate, but I think it would look better if it was just a little brighter. Not much, but a little. The neck shadowign is a little off, it looks like her neck's been twisted rather than it twisting and the wrist seems to be bent a little sharply. Other than that, it's an absolutely gorgeous picture. I love her back, it's very detailed and real-looking. I feel like I could reach out and touch her. I actually had to check the category to see if this was a photograph. Great job!
