I loved it when X-23 meets Wolverine for the first time. He took care of her & wanted to show her a better life & that they are more than weapons.He said it by himself that he isn`t a good father, but it would be the closest thing she has to family.
In the background are other agents/weapons of Weapon X (Kimura, Deadpool & Sabretooth) which don`t have a problem to kill anyone. Laura & Logan are deadly heroes, but the difference is that both of them have a conscience, while the others kill for fun or money.

something ive always being curios about the similar looks and theming between Kirmara and Laura in their desings. both are alethic, both experimented on, and have dark hair and green eyes.
its being a long observation of mine that while nearly every lead hero has a yeng to their yang their complete opposite whom will act as their main foil. for superman this is lex luter for bat man there is the joker, for professor x id say apocalypse and for captain america there is the red skull.
but more important to the point ill get to in a moment. is the dark reflection , for superman this can be super boy prime or Zod, for Bat man this can be Hush or Red hood (though id said red hood is more a dark reflection of robin/ night wing) for professor x id say its magneto or possible mastque and Captain America either, Nuke or the Winter solider.
in my mind a dark reflection is exectly what it says on the tin, a person whom walked a similar path to the lead hero, came from the same place or was shaped by similar events or views but insteed of becoming heroic or allowing those things to make them better. they took the darker path. now while not all are forever dominated by that darkness some can claw their way back. both Winter solider and red hood are more or less good guys now.
but what im I trying to get at here?
ive started to think that Kirmara may be more of a dark reflection to Laura rather than a traditional foil as like saber tooth and Logan they seem to share to many similarity's to by foils. But where Laura became kind though what was done to her, than what ever happened to make Kimara the way she is has become cruel and petty.
Just as dispite the pain the world has put him through, Logan is fundermently good, and regrates the mayhem and violence that fallow him. Saper tooth as become cruel also and relishes the violence that fallows him

I love this <3 You perfectly captured Logan's sensitive side, along with Laura's reluctance to act like the monster they designed her to be. If you sold this as a print, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Excellent work

I think that is what people like on Logan - he is a hard wild guy with a tragic story but he fights against his dark side and has a sensitive side in his heart. X-23, Jubilee and Kitty where people which he shows this side.
And Laura is one of the characters of Marvel with the most wonderful personality. Lot`s of clones (and in Marvel are MANY clones) have an uninteresting story and are only boring (female or evil) doubles of a character, but she is really great!

I hope some day Laura will get a chance to defeat Kimura, because it`s her personal archenemy. Till today she couldn`t do anything against her plaguer, always she needed help. But like Wolverine beheaded Sabretooth, X-23 shoud kill Kimura anyway. I never liked the problem that she can`t fight against her because her uncuttable skin.

Well, I had the opporunity to get some comics from a fried. Much of Wolverine's Story among it. I read them mostly, because I didn't know anything about Laura. I had only encountered Daken so far. What I have read of X-23 is 'Innocence Lost' and 'Target X'.

Her part as mainmember of X-force especially the "Not Forgotten"-story where she is very important.

Logan is always the cool guy but by his young female friends he is often a little bit more sensitive. Especially with Laura he had his moments because she had the same way of life like him, but without childhood. So I tried to draw a empathic expression in his face. Nice that you like it.

I love Sana Takeda. I think my style of X-23 has some influences of Takeda and Mike Choi. Choi is my second favorite illustrator of Laura.
I think Takeda should publish a Artbook of her work of her Marvelcharacters - I would love it!

I have seen his work - and you're right, is is beautiful. An excellent take on Laura. She's so under represented in the comics. She has so much potential. The X-23 series was a great look at it (I loved that she was traveling with Gambit, too), but it should have had a longer run.

Yes I´m very sad that her series has ended. But we could be happy that she got so much time in comics by contrast with other female Marvel characters (for example Firestar, Magma or Black Cat - Felicia is famous, but it is because she is a friend of Spider-Man and has a beautiful sexy design and not on the basis of many great own stories or character development). Laura was in X-Men, X-Force, Target X, NYX, her own X-23 series and in Venom. She had animated appearences in X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men and in the Game Capcom vs Marvel 3.
And in all series she wasn`t only a minor Figur who stands in the background, so I think we will see her in the future in important missions with the X-Men or Gambit, Jubilee and Wolverine again. She has many famous friends - the X-Men (especially Wolverine, Jubilee, Gambit, Psylocke, Mercury, Hellion etc.), the Future Foundation and even teamed up with Venom, Red Hulk and Ghost Rider. There is too much potential and I have hope that they will use this wonderful character again, because she is one of the best characterized girls in Marvel, so some authors get involved with her and make great stories again. I really feel confident. There where big events like Avengers vs X-Men and Marvel Now so there were not so much time for smaller stories and series so they had to look for their main series like Spider-Man, X-Men and Avengers.
In my opinion she will return.
