What's that saying? No man is an island. It's absolutely the opposite I think. We sometimes just need to get away from it all. To hide ourselves away from the world.
The expression on the "island" face is such a sad and lonely expression. You have done a wonderful job capturing that, especially in the eyes. Tragic is the best word I can think of to describe the expression.
I'm a bit curious as to the horned sphere in the arched window. When I first saw it I thought of the fat Viking lady at the Opera. "It's not over till the fat lady sings" as they say....is there some sort of link? lol Perhaps not.

When a friend of mine looked at it he exclaimed; "hey thats the guy from Jamiroqui!"
Well no, it does have an opera singer balcony going on so yeah it might be the fat lady. While I was drawing/painting it I was thinking about this curio that was at my grandparents house this little wooden figure with horns I used to sit and play with it behind their backs they weren't to happy with the children using their ornaments as toys.
On the whole island thing I feel kinna detached and I am happy that way...
