A paleoart painting of a pair of Velociraptor enjoying the view. Velociraptor was a genus of of dromaeosaurid dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous approximately 75-71 million years ago. Despite its depictions in popular media, the real animal would have been much smaller and much more feathered.

During the process of brainstorming the concept behind the painting, I decided to present the two Velociraptor as sexually dimorphic. The plumages of both dinosaurs are inspired by modern birds of prey, with the male's coloration being particularly derived from that of bearded vultures. The Velociraptor skeletals drawn up by DrScottHartman were used as an anatomical reference for both animals.
