For non Chinese viewers,the red images are not just words, they are also images.
Chinese words were evolution of pictograms that evolved with time as pictures which Chinese learn as words.
the characters on the wall meant 'Black and White' Beer, meaning Dark Beer and Light Beer were available at the coffeeshop just beside the wall.
This place is opposite Raffles Hotel, the Wall in the picture has made way for development, and lies in annoymity now.
Thus, a Forgotten Old Wall.
