I'm one of those who are fascinated with ocean and mermaid XD. I made her pretty fat lol.

You mean those on the right side? I think I painted them with light brown first and then washed them together with the background. lol

oh! That's salt effect. Just put salt on the wet paint and you'll get the result when its dry. Or you can also spray water on the wet paint, but not too much.

this is so beautiful. i love how you didnt draw the stereotypical mermaid. it's such a creepy coincidence that i've also been wanting to draw a mermaid in this pose with limp hair and the vibrant colors of the ocean. seems like i dont have to; this piece is very inspiring.
