Honorable people ask and then wait for permission- they do not first take and then say "I have taken."

I care.
But the world is full of "Take First Tell Later People" like yourself as well as obvious thieves so I don't post anything at a very high resolution.

I told you .. I didn't TAKE .. I LINKED BACK to your page , is it crime to tell ppl about YOUR page ?
I just felt it's your right to know that I likned back to your page .. don't make me feel bad about telling you .

I know you cares , I care too but those thieves ppl don't and websites owners don't care too , but I cridit everything I use .. go look in my gallery to know , and if linking back to your page is stealing in your logic then it's fine .. I'll just delete what I put in that website , its your right and I respict ppl ..

but plz .. don't claim that I'm thief .. I'm skillful enough to duplicate your work in HQ but I do NOT simply because I RESPECT you as an artist RESPECT you as human and RESPECT your rights in law .

It's not a crime- it's a link. I understand how the internet works.

You probably realize I don't speak Arabic but I went to the page anyway and have no way in to see where or how you linked. The site looks almost exactly like the one that angered everyone out here for first not asking. It's a resource site that probably has plenty of people like yourself posting links to Deviant Art and such places.
It seems to be the nature of people to take from the internet first and very few even bother to show appreciation as you did- and very few of them say thank you as you did.

I never called you a thief either. Actually I don't know what I would call you who tell me all this but show me a place where I can't verify it myself. Have a good day.

top box is username .. bottom one is password .. just copy and past the folowing username to see it ..

I hope you call me " good person " or " stranger who cares" or anything good ..
if there is a note you wana send to that website owner , I'll do my best to reach her ..
have a nice day .

Correction: there at the bottom is a tiny link to the texture gallery of Deviant Art.
Patterns are in the pattern gallery - not textures. Ah well, they may come and take textures.
My stuff has been on the Arabic sites ( and Chinese, English etc. ) for quite a while and never once did I get a Shokran / شكرا.

Thank you for the pass and it was as I expectd: there is NO link to my user page at all. This site is just like gulfson- the link goes to the download and that's all.

There is NO credit to the artist expressed- you click the link, get the file and say 'good by'. Good thing I put my name all over the place! Those big sites are set up like this on purpose to keep their users on their site - they don't want you to leave and check out the other place ( Deviant Art for example ) and we who can't speak their language have a difficult time trying to communicate with them.

I'm not mad at you because you probably didn't know this. Sure, send a note to the website owner and tell her as far as I am concerned she is building her site on the hard work of other people without acknowledging them let alone saying 'thank you'. She leaves it to an honest person like you to deal with an angry artist.
This is how to say thank you at a bare minimum:
In Arabic This file comes from [link]

your voice well reach .. and I'll keep u up-to-date with this website and other big websites ..

shokran for you instade of all ppl there , and excuse my English .. I'm still learing

12monthsOFwinter In reply to Harames [2009-08-27 07:40:03 +0000 UTC]

You don't have to say 'excuse my English' if it is not your native language- not after we have had a good understanding and communication.
Besides- it's in your signature!
I appreciate what you are saying and thank you. I don't expect things to change.
Enjoy using the patterns

Any chance of you post the PNG or JPEG files for these? My Psp doesn't open this kind of file ... And I loved those (as I usually love your patterns)

are you creating these with Illustrator? I've just put my copy on order and as I've never tried it before and therefore know exactly nothing about it, I find myself very curious as to your methods of creation.

These latest works of yours in particular have been some of your best. If you even find time, I'd very much be interesting in learning how it is you do what you do

I use Corel Draw actually. I've tried using Illustrator and find it awkward and lacking ease of use but there is a lot of help online for it.
Making patterns is mostly about repeating elements in a consistent way and software usually ships with a lot of premade objects so fortunately you don't have to create all of it on your own.

Ah.. I think I have an old copy of Corel Draw floating around here somewhere. I had been sifting through various programs in my attempt to switch to digital and I remember REALLY scratching my head over -that- one

Of course, the was before I knew or understood what a 'vector' -was- let alone what they were used for or what was used to make them *g*

I'll give the pattern thing a try though... It would come in handy whilst texturing. I will also poke around online for assistance since it's not Draw, either. However, if you wouldn't mind terribly.. I'd like to poke you occasionally for a nudge in the right direction if/when needed? I promise not to be a pest about it though I tend to learn well on my own for the most part. I just like having someone nearby that actually knows what the hell they are doing.. You know.. just in case I make it blow up or something

Thanks for the tips! I'm off to scour the web

12monthsOFwinter In reply to Stacey73 [2007-12-18 13:44:48 +0000 UTC]

I should mention that most of the patterns I made (not the vector ones) were made with a different program that had a kaleidescope kind of filter. Adobe Photoshop probably has a seamless tile filter - Corel Photopaint v.10 did too but it didn't work right!
Making bitmapped patterns is way easier and faster than making vector ones (in C. Draw) for me but the latest version of Illy probablably has a plugin or filter will make some of this easier.
Also check out 's gallery- she shares a lot of Illy tricks that will interest you

Oh my!! that -is- a helpful link! She's remarkably talented!

*sigh* sometimes being on DA can make you feel really -really- small.

Nevertheless, I am ALWAYS happy to learn something new, regardless of HOW much I might complain about it Thank you very much, for the information, as well as the linkage. Tis much appreciated!
