Description Before I start talking about the picture It would be great for you to check out my recent journal entry, as you could see all the different dubbed languages of Worthless, some are good some are bad but check them out the majority are good

With that aside, here is the next batch of background cars from Worthless, as requested by

Animated Version:

Now, this part of the song was actually one of the stronger parts for me, there's a lot of suspense with all the instruments building up and no dialogue or speech.

This brings us to the cars in the picture, these cars (from my guess) are just staring into outer space or have the 1000 yard stare this means by definition they're in a state of trauma as they're not staring in any known direction. This painting showing a soldier's torment in a war can sum up the expression of the cars [link]

You can imagine that they would be traumatised, wouldn't you? Being stuck in one place with nowhere else to look, seeing cars get smashed and their parts fly as soon as the crusher smashes one. I used to be creeped out by these cars but I kinda feel their torment and what they've seen

So, with the scene mentioned let's talk about the cars and the drawing, well most of the BG cars have undefinable models at times but a guess on some people's minds is that most of the BG cars look European in design.

As for the drawing I just set in the noticeable points on the cars, their dents and spider-web like window cracks. I also put in the extras for the two small car's antennas the zigzag one for the brown car and the upside down clothes hangar one (I dunno lol ^^) for the yellow one.

I managed to make the polluted clouds look better this time, and added some debris on the ground, but the distant piles of scrap still need improvement :/

So, that wraps it up hope you all like this ^^

The yellow car on the left kinda reminds me of Goofy and Max's car from A Goofy Movie.  disneyscreencaps.com/a-goofy-m…

Worth the wait

So yeah, when I draw the cars I try and keep as much scale and detail the same to the original. This is a good start, but when I start using photoshop and use better drawing utensils then I can learn from the best

There does seem to be two animators on the job, with Bobby he starts off with more curves and sorta cartoony like and then In the next scene he looks more like a car as he looks more stylish and detailed, not to mention his headlights have changed design, going from semi-circles to one eye being curved down and the other a complete circle.

With Pinky she looks more object like in the second scene she's in.

I think I managed to find some real life counterparts of these cars as close as I could get, what annoys me is that I'm not sure if the animators just used the same model but made the headlights round on a few, but these cars were as close as I could get

The yellow car is probably a Gremlin, without the square boxes around it's lights

The brown car underneath it might be a Chevy Vega [link]

The light pink (I guess) car is pretty close to a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba Sport Coupe.
[link]

The blue car reminds me of a 1970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille (note how both these cars have a long rear end)
[link]

The green vehicle is probably a van on that page, this one seemed to look the closest to the original :

These cars do seem to have that 1970s car look around them. I was just browsing 1970s chevrolet, chrysler etc to see what could be the closest counterpart for these cars. Nice analysis by the way, never thought that the green "vehicle" might've been a van/truck with the cab weighted down.

Oh and another thing, did you check out the animated test version and some of the different languages of Worthless?

Hey there, sorry to take so long commenting, but I think it'll be worth the wait since now I'm in the mood to type.

Thanks a lot for drawing this, I didn't expect you to hop to it and get it drawn so fast! You have a good gift for exact copying/replicating, I remember that's what I started out doing when I was a youngster. It's a good way to learn the basics and learn your shape and proportioning skills. Pretty soon I bet I'll see you drawing your own stuff from scatch!

I just love this scene, even though there's hardly any movement in it. It's a shame because I dislike it's lack of animation, but the lack of animation is probably the reason for the reason I LIKE it so much. That reason being that these are some of the most detailed cars drawn in the movie, all the dents, the antennas, the bent up grilles. None of the main animated cars have that much detail, probably to cut down on workload. The Toaster crew was under some steep time pressures to get the movie down, especially towards the final scenes of the movie from what I understand. But it seems like there were two different artists that worked on the Worthless scene, and you see the animation constantly switch between them at random throughout. There's one that seems to draw things more stylized and cartooney, which I think is the person who drew this scene. Then there's another animator who drew things a lot less cartoony and more symplistic.. you can see the examples in Bobby Lee and Pinky:

As for the cars in the picture here, most of these look a lot more distinctly American in styling. From my experience, a lot of the trucks, vans, and station wagons of the 1970s/80s in particular had those big square grilles. I think Chrysler was pretty guilty of that, with models like this: [link]

I'm so sure that at least one of those cars in the background is supposed to be like a Gremlin or Pacer.. just the way the back curves down like that.

The big guy on the bottom there looks like a pretty large commercial van or truck with the whole cab crushed down under the cars above it. Maybe something like this: [link]
