Description

While to the west, there existed the New California Republic (NCR) and Ceasar's Legion, but they were not the only people to succeed in recreating some semblance of Pre-war Government in the post-apocalyptic America. Towards the south-east, in what once was known as the Carolinas, exists the Carolina Confederacy. The people of the Confederacy are actually a very progressive people, and - excluding geography and a similar flag - has little in common with the Confederates of the American Civil War from the 1800's. Thanks to the utilization of a G.E.C.K device, much of the lands of the Confederacy have been reborn, allowing for massive farms to be made, bringing forth a heavily agricultural society - making them one of the largest producers in food in the wastelands. In the Confederacy, everyone is expected to carry their own weight, and to help your fellow man.

Militarily, the Confederacy possesses the Carolina Confederacy Armed Forces (CCAF) which is divided into the usual split of a regular Army, Navy and Air Force. Unlike their western counterparts, the Confederacy has made great strives industrially to create new vehicles and weapons to phase out the old, pre-war weapons commonly found in the wastelands. This has lead to the Confederacy being the only force - save for the Brotherhood of Steel - to make wide use of mechanized units, from jeeps and trucks to APC's and Tanks. Most interesting though is that the CCAF also makes use of power armor - due to the Carolina's playing host to a decomissioning zone for the scrapping of old T-45 series Power Armor before the war ended. When the Confederacy discovered these suits of armor, they quickly integrated them into their own forces, making them the only other force - outside of the Enclave and BoS - to have access to Power Armor, among other technological assets.

In addition to all of this, the Confederacy also maintains the Confederate Militia. After then-President Smantha Howard Lee passed the Universal Conscription act during the onset of the Raider Seiges, it is required that all citizens of the Confederacy recieve a level of military training, and may be drafted into the militia in the event that the Confederacy is attacked again - and is also used as a means to keep all of their citizens ready to fight against any threat at all times, be it either against local radioactive wildlife, or Raider parties.

Like the NCR is to the west, the Confederacy stands as a symbol of hope for the future survival of mankind as a civilized society... yet even the Confederacy realized that in this new world, conflict is inevitable. To the north, the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel repairs itself after the 'Commonwealth Incident' which gave rise to the New Commonwealth Provisional Government - the Knights setting their sights towards the Confederacy and their arsenal of advance technology. To the south, the corrupted, mutated glades of Florida have continued to fester and grow, giving rise to new life... that is lethal to humans. And to the west, Ceasar's Legion - now lead by Emperor Lanius after the death of Ceasar during the Battle of Hoover Dam, marches onward to the east and south to claim more slaves and land for their inevitable rematch with the NCR. And with conflict there comes war... and War? War Never Changes...
