Hi there! I actually did get your message over on FF, but I've mostly just been thinking over the idea since I saw it.
Here's the truth: I'm never going to pick that story up again, but I'm still, like, protective over it. It's got its issues, but it was pretty much my first fic and all that jazzzz. So I'm not sure how I feel about letting someone else adopt it as their own.
I guess that all depends on what you mean by adopt. I'm fine with someone taking the initial concept and doing their own creative thing with it. Even taking elements or ideas from what little I've written, or asking me what I had in mind if they want. But I'm honestly not okay with letting some pick up my story, as in, the words I wrote, and continuing with it.
I'm flattered you liked the idea enough to try to make it the first adoptable story in your group, and if you clearly state the conditions I've mentioned, I give you my permission to try to find the idea a new home.

Thank you very much! Sorry about the really late reply, I've been really busy lately.
To let you know, 1000 Paper Cranes is currently on hiatus. I lost a lot of steam when the comic trailed off. But I'm not officially calling it discontinued, because I really would like to pick it up again one day. There is currently only one more chapter up, and you can find it on fanfiction here.
