Random question....because you definitely know what you're doing.
I'm planning on making a custom dragon figure, and I plan on using fantasy film to make the wings. Β But I've never worked with fantasy film before.
I noticed that some of your work features fantasy film. Β Do you have any tips on how to use it?
All I know is that you have to iron down layers of film onto a wire frame...but I don't know anything about good brands or anything else. Β

Β I am not at all familiar with any "brands" of Fantasy Film. I purchased mine off eBay approx 8 years ago... ish.

Β What I would highly recommend is doing as much research on the subject as you can find and then experimenting with it before making the commitment to working on your project. I know that when I first started using the film I made (and in a couple of cases ruined) several test wings before I finally was happy with the results. I've never used an iron, I used tacky glue to secure the film before using heat to fully adhere the film to the wire. For heat I've only ever used an open flame, which is extremely difficult to work with and a smudge-stick for colour and precise details. You have to be careful with the stick, but it's not as unpredictable as the open flame.
