awesome, the dude you mentioned yesterday!
so glad I got the learn-to-say-no-to-things early in life, pursuing a creatve career is the tricky part.

That link was originally to some lame Q & A thing but it looks like it just takes you to whatever my current journal is lol. Sorry 'bout that! So did you watch the Neil Gaiman speech? Just noticed those journals are Alan Moore, the Dumbledore and Neil Gaiman, the Snape!
Yeah it seems like it takes more of a push, and alot more faith in yourself and the world around you to pursuit a 'creative' career. If anything my problem is learning to say yes haha... Or more accurately, to stop saying yes when I actually mean no and start saying yes, when I confidently mean yes.

ha that's a very good harry potter crossover man, can totally see that.
I think I preferd the alan moore one, purely because of how interesting his opinions are (and he is!), hit on some new ideas I haven't come across before!
gaimans speech is what it was, really funking good advice for 'making' it in the creative media.
yeh man, saying yes is equally as important as saying no, im a bit like that too, always stepping on eggshells, interesting place to be, but not when you need to start thinking about moving out and starting your own practical life!

The Alan More one is almost hypnotic! Really liked the 'steam' metaphor, we've definitely been drifting between those three different states throughout our development as humans, and information on the whole is pretty steamy lol. All the genius thinkers and artists around seem to be able to catch the minerals left behind in the steam as the fluid is distilled and use them for their creative alchemey!
Gaiman's awesome man, love his humour although you don't get it as much in that talk because he's slightly awkward and rehearsed. I think my favourite part is when he mentions needing 2 of 3 ingredients haha.Β

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Kind of rhythmic lines and suggestive imagery.
