👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thephoenixweeps In reply to Definitia [2009-05-27 22:06:18 +0000 UTC]

Zyden kind of likes Anathema. He's pursuing a Twilight (whom he simply calls "my Anathema"), who told the Wyld Hunt he didn't want to fight. After the Wyld Hunt insisted, he used Temperance Style to have Zyden accidentally strike his superior, Nellens Seresha, killing her. Zyden wants to know what the deal is with this quiet, thoughtful Anathema, who asked them politely not to make him hurt them, and thus has dragged his best friend Thegora out West in search of the man who wasn't acting like the monster he was supposed to.

Whoa, Zyden really is a nice guy. A 'normal' Dynast would get furious at the Anathema for tricking them into killing their fellow DB... But on the other hand, what if Zyden didn't like his superior?
Ehh, this kind of interactions, I mean, between religious Dynasts and Anathema who turn out not what they are told to be, is hard stuff. I have problems with one... Any help? D:

Yael never fought with Dynasts, he didn't even have much opportunities. I can recall just one, when his young student was suprised by a group of Dragon-Blooded, but I believe he just snached him and ran away... Generally, Yaelian doesn't fight until one of these conditions is met: a) the enemy is a creature of darkness; b) it is absolutely necessary; c) his wife tells him to do so ; d) LIMIT BREAK!
But either way, he rarely finishes his enemies off (high compassion, yay), save from times mentioned in the point d)

thephoenixweeps In reply to Definitia [2009-05-29 17:04:31 +0000 UTC]

Well, he really did like his superior (and learned Terrestrial Melee Reinforcement, one of her signature charms, in honour of her death), but he was genuinely confused by an Anathema who turned back the Wyld, calmed the gods, spoke politely and seriously, and fought with precision and regret. The man simply told them that he wished to be left alone and would leave Wavecrest immediately. When further hounded, he said that he did not wish to have to fight, and eventually, told Zyden straight that the next time he attempted to hit him, he would see the result of such thoughtless actions- whereupon Zyden rolled 22 to hit, and his lance went straight into Seresha.
Zyden fell into a kind of despair for a few months to follow, having dreams of killing his superior, and finally, prompted by the actions of a Dragon-Blooded PC from a different campaign, had a dream in which the Anathema reappeared and showed him what he'd done with the West- all he'd tried to do was save it.
So Zyden grabbed Thegora (who was another shikari alongside Zyden in the first fight), and headed out to find the too-reasonable Anathema.
(Of note: as a player, I've met the Anathema in a different, Solar campaign. His name is Care's Wreath, and he is Temperance 5, with the Stone of Temperance to make him Temperance 8. EIGHT.)

Aww, poor Zyden, must have been through a lot But I hope he finds the Solar and finally understands that he's no Anathema, but a hero who wants to save Creation D:

May I ask you for some advice? But I'll tell you a story first xD I love telling you stories and of course reading yours <3

It's still fun to read about them It makes the characters I see on your drawings seem more "alive", if you know what I mean

Why did most of the Circle from Save the South die...?

Well, I've been in only one campaign, the one I run... It's focused on three Solars. But I put LOTS in it. Right now I'm taking a break from that game, running a short campaign for Lunars. But it's still in the same setting and events from it will influence the 2nd season of the Solar campaign...

Zydengame, lol

thephoenixweeps In reply to Definitia [2009-05-30 00:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Zyden doesn't have a good title yet

The Gem Circle actually all met different, spread-out ends. Suan Xu, the Eclipse, was the first to go, battling Alveua in single combat over the rights to an N/A level artifact. She took his soul and made him into an orichalcum Ring of Being, which she presented to the rest of the Circle. The Ring is currently worn by his Lunar mate, Mabuchi, who has Solar Bond 5- this is the best it can be for her, until she finds his next incarnation.
Haka Rin died about half a year afterwards, fighting the akumized Morden Kas. He let loose a hail of daggers from above, slicing the Twilight, but was met with an equal rain from the Solar spell he'd cast, Technique Mirror. In the same battle, the Zenith of the Circle, the Blossom Crimson (a Green Sun Prince), was killed just before she took Jekka to Malfeas to become an akuma herself. (Jekka and the Blossom haad been married in the First Age, and Jekka, her entire family dead, would have done anything to have someone she could call family again.)
Peleps Saethira, made into an NPC when her player moved away, suffered the worst fate- when the surviving Solars were out of Gem for the day, it was attacked by barbarians led by two Lunars sworn to the Perfect's service. The warleader, a sandswimmer Full Moon called Hunts-For-Fury, raped and murdered her. Jekka took his head off less than an hour later, and mounted it on a pike as a lesson to those who would backstab her Circlemates.
As for Danath Mavius, the Circle's leader from the start, originator of House Mavius, and the great God-King of Gem, he decided to meet with Saloi Hin, his ally, in his attack on the Realm, and was killed fighting an entire legion of Realm troops, including eight warstriders. None yet know of his death, because he was impulsive and didn't tell anyone in Gem that he was going.

As my fiance runs our games, I'm in all the ones he does (except for the current Infernal game- I suck at playing low Compassion characters). He also does love to keep busy and thrives on juggling plotlines, so so far we've had the following:
-Save the South (Jekka the Dawn, Danath Mavius the Dawn (now deceased), Haka Rin the Night (now deceased), Peleps Saethira the Twilight (now deceased), Suan Xu the Eclipse (now deceased), Pale Mercy the Eclipse): in which Gem is repeatedly brought back from the brink of destruction, and one Circle has a very hard time working together. (Now ended, Jekka pulled into her own plot and Mercy into Great Forks plot.)
-Eastern Alliance (Danae the Eclipse, Masaki the Night (with major NPCs Merak the Changing Moon and Teskallah the Full Moon, the PCs' respective Lunar mates)): in which Linowan sends two outcasts to gain Lookshy's alliance and the PCs are a pair of angsty angsty Solars. (Currently on hold.)
-Exaltroid (Path the No Moon, Remia the Zenith, major NPCs Bone-Feather and Morden Kas): in which a quest to complete two sets of Celestial Battle Armor turns into an exercise in memory and responsibility.
-Zydengame (Ledaal Zyden the Fire Aspect, major NPC Sesus Chenow Thegora the Wood Aspect): in which two good-for-nothing Dynasts discover what they were made for.
Then we had several short-lived campaigns of only a few sessions each, one with the Cult of the Illuminated in the North at the Tabernacle and one in the West in the Neck.
Also played Grey Flame, a Night, in a Nexus game run by ~MediaLocust instead of ~Skeptic-Tank . So many games!

Hi, um, how are you doing?

I wanted to apologize for further delay in doing my part of the art trade. I' just suffering from a really bad case of procrascination syndrome (), so... Let's just set a deadline or something. For example, next friday? If I do not finish by then, you're free to eat all my food. Srsly D:

Well, I did the lineart, and I'm about to start coloring, but I'm stuck. It's about Zyden's staff. Is it just plain and white or maybe it has some special features?

Anyway, I don't know about time in your country, but around here, the friday has just begun, so I have, like, 23 hours to finish that pic. We'll see if Zyden will nom on Yaelian's cookies...

By Canadatime, it's only 10:20 pm Thursday. You've still got lots of time

As for Zyden's vajra, it is about a couple of feet taller than he is, and made of pale white wood. There's a core of white jade, which emerges at the center and at each end. The hearthstone socket, in the center, set high in the handhold, is set with the Jewel of the Flying Heart, a red triangular hearthstone. It does have a set of Old Realm sigils spiralling down the handhold, but as Zyden certainly can't speak Old Realm (and won't be learning it anytime soon), he has no idea what the real name of the weapon is. It was a present of sorts from his father, and is one of the only things he's ever been given.

Have any pictures of Yaelian?

Definitia In reply to thephoenixweeps [2009-05-22 09:36:56 +0000 UTC]

K. Will try to finish that pic today, but since I'm going home for the weekend, I'm affraid I won't be able to submit it by the end of MY friday xD That's because the compy at home is broken ...wait, does that mean Zyden can eat Yaelian's cookies?

Apparently, no pics of him at dA. Will have to make some xD Generally, he's one of the biggest bishies in the campaign (and the oldest Solar), a tall guy with very long and curly brown hair, golden eyes and... Usually serious face XD He's one of the PCs' master on Martial Arts and all sorts of knowledge... And we constantly make fun of him, because he is... Kinda... Henpecked xD Lol. His wife is an ancient Sidereal...

So, if the cookies were baked by his wife, it won't be easy to get them...

Definitia In reply to thephoenixweeps [2009-03-08 22:13:45 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm.
Since I'm kinda obsessed with Lunars now - I'm gona run a mini-campaign for them, to take a break from the usual "Solar Soap Opera" and I'm pretty excited about this - I would like one :3
I'm thinking about ~5DaysMourning 's Jade Turned Silver - she's his character, but he never got to roleplay in his game so he... Um... Borrowed her to me, and she's gona play an important role ;3 Here are the pics of her: 1 2 3 4

And what would you like me to draw for ya...? :3

And one more thing, what would you say if it was a chibi art trade? :3 I'm thinking about such solution for 2 reasons: a) I haven't drawn in a while b) Chibis are cute But let's just make them quite detailed chibis... Or something.

We've been turning Merak good. We like good to win. It's just a long process. In our last session, he finally raised his Compassion to 2, so he could potentially turn into a more normal person. Someday!

Definitia In reply to thephoenixweeps [2009-03-19 23:16:05 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I'm so glad to hear this. Turning bad characters good is my favourite process But it's usually very difficult.
Well, speaking of Compassion, the same goes for my siggy Lunar, Kanuel. He started with one dot, now he has two, but at the beggining, he was not that bad, just bloody selfish.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thephoenixweeps In reply to Definitia [2009-03-20 15:08:01 +0000 UTC]

Merak just hasn't had any experience getting rewards from being good. He was raised in a crazy cult by worshippers of another selfish Lunar (this is where he got all his piercings. the cult strapped him down when he was ten and put them all in), and the Guild snapped him up as an excellent assassin when he showed up in the East (literally out of the blue, as he'd gotten lost in the Wyld). He continued on his ways of doing whatever he wanted to people, since he'd always been taken advantage of, and now, exalted, nobody could stop him.
Well, the PCs stopped him, and now my Eclipse Danae has him bound to serve her best interests and protect her. In our last stop in Sijan, he was confronted with five ghosts of people he'd killed for no good reason, and his fear of the dead actually made him stop and see what he'd done.
Later that day he sacrificed himself to keep Danae and Masaki (the PCs) out of the hands of an Essence 5 Abyssal martial artist, and was saved in turn when Masaki swept him to safety. He put him Compassion up directly after the session. ^_^

Definitia In reply to thephoenixweeps [2009-03-31 00:30:11 +0000 UTC]

Yep, Compassion 1 is usually caused by traumatic events in the childhood, seeing lots of blood, pain, cruelty... When there are no sources of compassion at all... Kanuel also had been through that... And other evil antagonists I've seen as well T_T Poor guys. But I'm really glad Merak is starting to find the good path :3
