Hey there,
Not sure how regularly you still check the PaF forum, but if you wouldn't mind, could you come back and post for a bit? I've gotten a couple of new members that actually seem interested in being a part of the forum, but it's kinda been dead for several months. And while new members is great, two new members ain't gonna help too much.
I'm mainly trying to contact forum members that don't require me to PM them. Most likely everyone's switched emails since they joined in '09.
Gimme a helping hand and we might just be able to salvage that forum yet.

My birthday was great! My mom made me a casserole and we got a delicious cheesecake.
The best part was later at night when I got a phone call from someone who started singing me happy birthday. I didn't recognize them at first. They asked me if I knew who they were, and I told them I didn't. They said they'd give me a hint, and began singing in Russian.
Turns out it was my friend who lives in Germany! She was an exchange student at my school last year, and I hadn't seen her since June. Sometimes I forget that phone lines can cross the ocean. So it was a wonderful surprise that she called me. ^^

That was SO cool of them! I love it, when people do that kind of surprises to others
What a wonderful thing she did, just to wish you a happy birthday and talk to you again

Cheesecake is the best sort of cake ever. ^^ Cheese is delicious, and cake is delicious, so whoever thought of putting them together is a genius.
I know! It made me very happy indeed!
My friends and I are going to send her a package at Christmas with all the American foods she can't get in Germany. ^^

There are a lot of other cakes that I like better, but I will agree to this, and I now you will as well:
Cake is good, cake is great!
My love for it grows and so does my weight!
- I wrote it myself
Aww, that's so cool of you! She's really gonna appreciate it, it's priceless to get stuff like that when you're away from home.

YESSSSS. That should be my motto.
Yeah, I hope she'll like it. ^^ She's actually not away from home though - she's at home, and she was away from home when she was here where I live. But she really liked the fake-ish packaged macaroni and cheese we have over here, for some reason.

Hehe, I love macaroni and cheese too when I make it myself. The kind that comes in a box tastes a bit like cardboard to me. But I loved it when I was little.
Food is so awesome, it's like all I ever eat.

Most of the storebought stuff is kind of crappy, but I've found a couple of things that tastes quite well, even though it's really cheap.
I also experience it all the time, remembering something good from my childhood and then trying it later on in life, to my utter disappointment especially when it comes to food, hehe.
I like to eat yoghurt as well, even though it's so easy to swallow, I tend to chew a lot of things that don't really need to be chewed

the-eeemeee In reply to Tjalfehvalpen [2010-11-04 05:00:44 +0000 UTC]
Things that taste good and are cheap are always nice. Especially ramen noodles and canned soup. And it's funny how our tastes change as we grow up... I remember needing to put ketchup on everything when I was little, but now I don't really like ketchup much.
The language nerd in me noticed something. You wrote 'things that taste well' and I just wrote 'things that taste good.' When I think about it, you're right - it should be 'well,' because 'taste' is a verb. But I've never heard 'that tastes well!' It's always 'that tastes good,' even though that's bad grammar. What a funny thing language is!
Mmm, yogurt is delicious! Though I can't say I've ever chewed it.

Tjalfehvalpen In reply to the-eeemeee [2010-11-04 06:17:21 +0000 UTC]
Yeah! ^^
And I know, it's the same for me, ketchup can taste really good, but I need it to be a GOOD ketchup, not just any kind cos then they usually just taste bland and boring. Nowadays I prefer to eat pasta and the likings with vegetables or a sauce,it's much, much better.
I never noticed that, hehe..
I'm not a grammar freak, so I didn't do it on purpose, hehe..but yes, the language is both funny and entertaining ^^
Yes, it is! And as I say that I'm chewing my yoghurt
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
the-eeemeee In reply to Tjalfehvalpen [2010-11-09 04:58:36 +0000 UTC]
Yep, vegetables and sauce can beat ketchup any day. And they're probably healthier, too. Though ketchup is still good in small amounts. And once I went to a restaurant where they made their own ketchup, and it was amazing!
Heh, I'm a little bit of a grammar freak... I think it's interesting, and I'm good at noticing when grammar is bad or good, just from the feel of the words. But I'm not one of those annoying people who runs around correcting everybody. Because for me language is more about how people actually speak it than how people should speak it. ^^
How do you chew yogurt? I mean, it's so soft, there's nothing there to chew!

Tjalfehvalpen In reply to the-eeemeee [2010-11-10 16:31:42 +0000 UTC]
They ARE healthier hehe
Oh, I so, so, so love ketchup! It just needs to be served aside the right dish, like great, spicy French Fries and a nice chicken breast.
but I must admit, the best ketchup I've tasted is some of those they make themselves at hotdog stands and whatnot here in Denmark..they taste ridiculously good!
Hehe, I'm a bit of a spelling freak..I must spell everything correct but I don't correct others unless it's important to both them and me, like in an assignment or something. Otherwise, I don't.
You know what language I want to learn?! SIGN LANGUAGE!
I don't know, I just do! I've even caught myself...chewing water.

the-eeemeee In reply to Tjalfehvalpen [2010-11-15 06:44:06 +0000 UTC]
Ketchup is good on hamburgers, and on macaroni and cheese in moderation. Hmm, if - no wait, WHEN, for someday I must - go to Denmark, I'll have to try some hotdog stand ketchup then. ^^
Hehe, I'm the same way. But it's probably a good thing, because if we went arownd speelig evryting lyk dis wee wud luhk a litul sillee.
Ooh, sign language would be very cool! Though the hard thing about sign language is that there isn't just one - each country basically has it's own! So if I learned American Sign Language and you learned Danish Sign Language, we couldn't understand each other at all. But I suppose that's how it is with spoken language too.
My goodness, I don't even know how that's possible.

HAMBURGERS! HOMEMADE HAMBURGERS! ...
Yes, that's a must for you! But I will say it differs from hotdog stand to hotdog stand, so I hope you come across a good'ne! ^^
Omg, I almost couldn't read that Was it tricky to write? hehe
Yes! But now I realize I need to learn a lot of language to both be spoken and in sign language..that's a lot of work!
I don't know either....I've also, like you do with warm food, blown on my spoon full of ice cream

That smiley either wants to eat me or is in extreme pain. But yeah, homemade burgers are amazingly tasty. I love the ones my dad makes.
I will certainly try! I'll look around for a hotdog stand with a sign that says "We have good ketchup" and make sure to go there. ^^
Ahaha, it's probably harder to read it than to write it. All you have to do ees rit owt tha wurd funetikly. Or just switch letters around until you have something sufficiently stupid-looking.
Sigh, everything in life is a lot of work, isn't it? It would probably be hard to learn, but well worth if, especially if you met somebody who also speaks sign language!
Well... whatever floats your boat. I don't suppose blowing on your ice cream warms it up any, does it? Sometimes I mix my ice cream around to make it smooth... never blown on it though.

But I loves me some homemade hamburgers ^^
Hehe, good!
I almost couldn't read that again! I get writing it fonetically, but it's just not my thang, my brain struggles with it, because it looks so stupid and silly to me
Yeah, everything in life involves a lot of work. Damn it.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't want it to come easy, nothing worth having comes easy or free.
No, not really..I guess I was stuck in "soup" mode and just blew on it

Oh, it's quite all right. ^^ I understand that life gets busy. And I always know that you'll reply someday, which is good enough for me!
It really does look stupid and silly, doesn't it? You know, it's probably also harder for you to read that because we're speaking English, I'm spelling phonetically with English sounds, and your natural language is Danish. I think our brains automatically read phonetics in our natural languages even when we're fluent in other ones... I remember a girl who is fluent in English but naturally speaks German trying to phonetically write out some Russian for me. Even though she knew English sounds, she could only write phonetically in German (with 'w' for 'v' sounds, 'au' for 'ow' sounds, etc.)
Ooooor it could just not be your thang.
That's true, if we didn't have to work for anything, we would never have the satisfaction of finally getting it, would we?
...Hmm, I wonder if there's such thing as soup-flavored ice cream?

Yeah, life does get busy. And I get lazy but it's good to know you're okay with it!
Yes, it does, hehe
It might be for that reason, but I also believe it to just not be my thang
I've also never really tried writing or thinking phonetically in Danish, so I'm just not used to thinking like that ^^
Exactly!
If you haven't watched it, you should watch Balboa. The last Rocky movie, it's really great! (and yes, that was a very random thing to tell you)
Hmm..I'd rather want ice-flavoured soup

My life gets busy and I get lazy too, so... I can't be hypocritical, now can I?
I probably would find it difficult if I'd never tried too... but for some reason I think I've written phonetically quite a lot. In fact, I once had to write out some French words with English phonetic spelling so that my friend (who doesn't speak French) could say them in a movie for school. That was interesting.
I've never watched any of the Rocky movies. It's sad... there are a lot of movies I should watch.
Ice-flavored soup? Wouldn't that just be water?
