Did you see that the character "Doji Dainagon" got featured in this week's chapter of the Legend of the Five Rings story. Apparently, she's amazingly skilled at fashion. I'd believe that based off of the art.
Were you told about that skill set of hers when you were designing the character? What instructions did AEG give you anyway?

Ah, no, I didn't see that--neat! AEG didn't actually give me too many instructions for that card; they were in the middle of a change-up in management, but I think they prefer to let their artists take the pictures where they want to anyway. I did know that the Crane clan is known for it's taste and beauty, and that texture and pattern are very important in L5R design, so I tried to play that up, but I didn't get too many details as far as personality went.

That's interesting. I agree with that philosophy. Allowing the artist more freedom always causes you to end up with more interesting pictures since the artist puts more of themselves into the piece.

Just haven't gotten around to it yet...they ask us not to post until after the official deck comes out, and I've only been able to spend time on DA sporadically lately. I plan to post her sooner or later...
