Since you're from the U.K., I guess I should go ahead and ask: have you seen/ever come in contact with any works by Banksy?

Loving your work, by the way. Is pasties something you created, or has it been around for some time (because Ive never heard of it till now)?

Thats too bad. I really dig Banksy and, if I had any artistic/drawing ability, I would strive to have my graffiti to be on his level. I least he tries to create something with meaning (whether political or not)--most of the graffiti around my hometown is either junk (shit you find on bathroom walls) or by wannabe gangs claiming "territory". There have been a few gems here and there though(and belive me, I shoot them if I find them)

I'll research these paste ups more tonight. Im always looking for something that is interesting or can spread my "artistic horizons".

Im guessing there easy to rip of though?

Ha! Thats awsome! I was wondering too: how hard is it to do all this type of street art with all the high survallence around? Its one reason Im suprised Banksy has remained anonymous for so long (despite pic and video evidence to the contrary).

Yes, its rubbish up here--which is why I can't wait to move downstate. Example: I was in East Lansing--home of Michigan State University--early this month. I was walking around near campus and saw written on the wall (with what seemed like marker) "Please stop ruining my world!"

You won't get that shit up north.

I'll check out that book. The only grafitti related book I have is Banksy's "Wall and Piece" (I would love to get more, but, like Billy Childish's books, they cost an arm and leg on Amazon.com).

I would kill to see Childish live. He's been a huge influence on me--in attitude, looks, way of life, music, and, most of all, his poetry. I liked his novel "My Fault"m but as far as his other prose goes...well, he should stick to music, painting, and poetry. He cops Louis Ferdinand Celine's style too much for his own good.

Fans can contact him? Holy crap! I'll give it a college try, and attempt not to sound like too much of a fan boy.

I don't care about fame status so much--whether it be underground or not. Childish and Banksy both follow their own creative imagination and visions--thats what I respect and admire them for. To be philisphical for a second: Fame can either be a giver or a killer to an artist--its all about how you handle it. It can change your attitude and your creativity, or it may not. Its entirely up to you (this is why--whether it be art, music, whatever--I dont pay much attention to those who criticize or hate on other soley because of their fame status).

Thanks for the offer. I'd be willing to send you some of my work as well. Ive self published two poetry chapbooks thus far.

As for Banksy anonymity, this is the main pic of him ive seen (if it is him): [link] . Ironically enough, when I first gazed upon this pic, it was on some blog bashing him for acting like a douche while he was in Jamaica. According to the blogger, he was an all around dickhead to everyone but his host, snorted plenty of coke, painted his signature rats everywhere, and finally shut his mouth when he was reminded that he was in a neighboohood known for its high white on black crime rate. Haha

If fame comes along for me, I guess I'll accept it. Otherwise, whatever. I would much rather be known for creating work that is impressive, provacative, thoughtful, original, memorable, influential, and leaves a positive mark in history than be a celebrity of any kind.

(Oh wait,is that a defenition of fame? lol).

That Barley character:[link] you mentioned reminded me of Shepard Fairey for some reason (it just popped into my mind).Shit, look at what he's done: [link] Theres nothing that makes you a douche more than hating on/suing someone who does the same techniques as you--with you're work, that is.

Theres nothing in particular Im looking for,as far as Childish poetry books are concerned. I own three of them: "Poems of Laughter and Violence", "The Man With Gallows Eyes", and "Hunger at the Moon". Besides being across the world, the reason Ive always fiqured his poetry is so damn expensive is 1) he self-publishes them (Hangman Books, right?), and 2) They all seem to be chapbook size and go through one printing (just guessing).

His work with the british empire was my first exposure to his music. The song "Joe Strummers Grave", to be exact. I have that cd, along with the Thee Headcoats album "Heavens to Murgatroyd, Even! It’s Thee Headcoats". I would get more, but me and every other American are all suffering from the stupidity of the blood suckers on Wall Street and all the other capitalist scumfucks and politicians. Ah, thy recession...

I see that you dig the game Jet Grind Radio. I was fortunate enough to get a Dreamcast and that game back when Sega was the shit and on the cutting edge (its last great console hurrah, you could say). Awsome story, gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack (which, since I bought the game 5 plus years back, Ive been wanting to get.) There no new games for that series coming any time soon, right?

Oh, and have you played the Marc Echo game "Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure"? Its a poor mans JGR, and Echo lashed out at gamers for not "understanding" the game.
