I just stumbled on here. Love what I am seeing. Do these fit 1/3 (60cm) dolls? Would love to try some of these out.

Thank you so much! Yes, these patterns are mostly for 1/3 (various body types), need some fitting/scaling in any case though.

what type of clay do you sculpt your beautiful dolls from? do you sculpt your dolls and then fire them all yourself?

Thank you! There are 3 types of clay that I currently use:
- Castilene (hardest grade) is a wax, it's a gray thing that I use for prototyping;
- Mungyo Sculpt Dry is a self-hardening clay, can be used for making full BJD prototypes, is rather strong but can be sanded and cutted easily;
- Apoxie Sculpt is a 2-part epoxy putty, I use white Apoxie. Is stronger than Mungyo and can be used for both prototyping and making one of a kind playable BJDs like my Ascker.
But most of the dolls you see on my page are casted in polyurethane resin. I don't cast by myself - I prefer to commission those services. Then I paint the dolls, make wigs, etc.

You do excellent art work!! so very beautiful!! I just started felting not long ago and I am so drooling to make a BJD doll. I have naturally drawn/painted/sketched women for too many years and sculpted a few in modeling and or polymer clay
Oh but I've never ever made a bjd doll and I am desperate to make just one! lol
I think I have read ten thousand internet searches
done a couple dozen sketches, have most all the supplies, not settled on stringing/joining type .. but still haven't made one, yet!
I am still admiring you doll artist and the beautiful (hard) work you all do!
Thank you so very much for sharing your clay with me! when I ever get to the point I am ready to start one 'can I possibly ask you at least two questions?
I promise I want drive you mad! but please do tell me If I am ever a bother!
Do you ever do customer work or co-design a doll?
just curious!
Thanks again so much! All my very best to you and yours! Much joy always, dawn

Thank you very much!
Look, you have such a strong background, - I believe you just need to have a courage and time and start sculpting your 1st BJD.
Here are a few advices:
- plan with detailed measurements and front and side views is a must,
- you can sculpt some dollie parts in a hard plasticine, just to understand how the joints move and what is the range of the movements is,
- if you can find somebody with an Asian polyurethane BJD so you can hold the doll in hands and exam it - do this, it will help you a lot.
And I'll be waiting for your questions))) They're definitely aren't "i wanna make my own bjd so please tell me everything", but are rather thought out. It's always nice to have such questions))
No, I never did a dollie collaboration, as I prefer to do everything by myself ^_^

Как же приятно видеть человека, который так потрясно выполняет кукол да еще и является чуть ли не земляком! Огромное спасибо за туториалы, только возникло пару вопросов (думаю, в личке всё и уладим )
