About caseless weapons:
You possibly know about HK G11, you knew about Soviet AO-31-7. There were also VAG-73 (Soviet pistol), Benelli CB-M2 (Italian SMG), PPZh-005 (Kazakh SMG), MBA Gyrojet (American pistol), but they weren't as popular as German monster...
All of those weapons had caseless ammo.

Design looks good, although for a smg, it could be more compact. The resemblance to the X-BR is pretty neat, I'd keep it as it would give some character, G3 / MP5 resemblances and etc.
On the X-BR model, I haven't had much time to work on 3d stuff outside of my schoolwork so not much progress there. Still working on a highpoly Elcan atmos optic, then gotta start making some backup irons. I should be able to get it done when the Christmas break gets around though.
