I've got 'Riceboy sleeps', by Jonsi & Alex. Haven't heard the solo album though, is it any good?

I've got Riceboy sleeps too. It so mellow. Really like it. Yeah, his solo album is really good.. Worth a listen. He sings in English on it

I think I've managed to favourite about half your work here! I apologise for all the notifications, but even as an astrophysics student, I so rarely find consistently delightful astrophotography that I simply had to.

That's very nice to read, especially from an astrophysics student! Thanks very much Hope it clears so I can show you some more soon

Definitely! It's a pity it isn't exactly clear tonight. It would have made for a few lovely pictures of Neptune at its nearest to Earth.

It would be great to capture a decent image of Neptune! I'm afraid my planetary images aren't very good though Jupiter will be pretty high this autumn, so it'll be a good opportunity to practise Cheers !

Thanks a lot, Robin! I'm no artist really. Just like taking images of stuff in space It's been a while now though, not really had chance on the rare occasions when the weather has been ok. Looking promising lately though.. Thanks mate.

Here are my questions:
How long of an exposure and what ISO should I normally shoot for galaxies, nebulas, etc?
I would use DeepSky Tracker, but I have a mac right now, do you know of any good mac programs to use?
How do you "stack with flats and darks"?
I appreciate the willingness to help! If you don't feel like typing out long answers, you could just direct me to a site where I could get them.

No problem.. Yeah, I could go on for a while about this, but I'll keep it concise for you. BTW, I highly recommend this site [link] It's helped me a lot!! Ask and question there and people on the forum will help. There's a section for everything.
'How long of an exposure and what ISO should I normally shoot for galaxies, nebulas, etc?' Basically as long and as many as you can. I go for 5 minutes an exposure, and use ISO 800. 1600 is really grainy. For me ISO 400 isn't sensitive enough for dim galaxies.
I don't know of any MAC programmes, sorry. DSS can't be used on a MAC?
'How do you "stack with flats and darks"?' - You just select them in DSS and it does it for you. I've never used them in manual stacking in PS. I don't mind answering questions, so fire away if you have any. Cheers

Thank you so much! I think I'll be bootcamping Windows 7 on my mac soon, so I'll be able to try out the program. Again, thanks for everything!

Aloha!
Do you happen to have a Facebook account? The reason I ask is because I hardly frequent DA (been busy with things in my life, plus I haven't submitted art in a while). It'll be easier to contact me there...that is, if you have an account.
