At graduation they played a classical piece, and I don't know what it is called (I really don't pretend to know classical music) but I have listened to it before, and I thought everyone had - but to my surprise, the people all around me were 'scarred' when it got really loud really fast. I seem to remember learning that they did that to wake up the sleeping audience. . .
Classical Music Rocks (well, not literally, but you know what I mean)

K, just submitted 'Face to Face', just another look at the question you posed - don't think its deep enough though...
Look at it anyways.

About what you wrote in the journal
Anyways, I guess being the same age, we can kinda connect. I can see what you mean by that 'touching' business - my school has that too.
What I believe is that "you don't find love, love finds you". I don't think you were quite honest about never being in love (I may be wrong) because why else would you be so interested!!!
You've seen The Matrix, remember The Oracle, "Being The One is like being in love, no one can tell you you're in love, you just know it, through and through."
I don't wish to drag on but even if I do, there is no way in answering your question probably because this topic is just way too complicated.
I'm getting all confused now...I guess the point I'm trying to make is that 'love is painful', you learn it one way or another what it actually is. (Read "Say It" from my works and you might understand)
How the hell did I write that much, I only meant to thank you for the +fav...
Cheers

I hear ya. I remember just standing back and laughing to myself about it all. Not the whole down with love thing, I mean every once in a while two people actually would make it 1.5 yrs or more and not be sick, but the others you just have to have a good humor about.

Guess I wasnt the only one who read Brave New World for senior english....and hopefully liked it, because its scarily true in some aspects. However thats not the point of my expounding tonight.
Love and the High School World: As I See It - By KMW
Love is an all-encompasssing word, and I think as a people we try to overload it with too many meanings. Thus it becomes ambiguous and the default word that comes to our mind when we feel affection toward another individual. I dunno bout you but that stuffing "meaning" of love bugged the crap out of me because it just seemed to be everyones kick-off answer, I've know her two weeks, I'm in love; i've know him two days, I think I'm in love; I've known her two hours, love at first sight...you get the point.
I had a teacher last semester who suggested something that seemed to appease the need of the word "love" for subdivision and clarity. He proposed that there were 8 different kinds of love, set against one another in a wheel (similar to the color wheel but with 8, with it's pairs as contrasts), and to have the true experience, one had to balance these 8 types of loves (or affection), culminating in something we know as true, pure love (the kind couples who have been married like 65 years and still enjoy one another to the fullest have). Consequently enough, my teacher used "high school love" as the description for whats called "Manic Love." Y'konw what I mean, the whole manic up down up down date a new person every 4 months kind of thing, does he like me, he's cheating on me, I forgive him, etc etc etc.
Now that was just fun reading, now I'll cut the diatribe and go straight to my calculated opinion: While you can experience various of the 8 types of love at an early age individually, quite frankly, I think on average, you dont start really figuring out what true, pure love is until you're able to interact with people in an emotionally mature way....which usually comes after like 2 serious heartbreaks at least. Have I been in love. Once, and I'll tell you this: love that lasts isnt something just felt or known on instinct, granted you can get the sense, its only cultured once you truly recognize it. Its a genuine removal from yourself and genuine care and tuned focus to the wellbeing of another.
Im sorry bout the length, some topics I can go off for a while about (obviously this is one of them) because I have yet to acquire the skill to explain love accurately in fewer words...its just that complicated, but its also just that beautiful when you find it ( and it'll take a while too). Its a learning experience through and through, one of curiosity, sense, intelligence, emotion, risk, resolution and commitment (stress the commitment)....and I can't wait to find it again ( and hopefully this one wont end up dead to me) As for high school students....y'all are just learning, but wanting to already be years ahead of yourself. Finding out that lust isnt the kind of love that lasts
Lenghty yes, but I hope this helps you on your way to understanding

ROTFLOL ROTFLOL ROTFLOL I love high school girls now that I'm looking back on it and not acutally living it. Yes I know thats horrible to say, but really once you get past it, up to the summit, and start hiking the next big hill in your life, as you look back, you're just like, oh heavens....sit back...and just chuckle to yourself causeyou know on the bigger hill, what you went through on the smaller one don't mean..... well.... you know. Im just sorryyou still have to sit through all that...

You are absolutly right! Paige's Self esteem is WAYYYYYYYY down there though. She has the self-esteem that she has to bring others down with her - I'll just try to keep my level and insult people only if they deserve it.
I don't know where Jill's is - she has the intelligence of a lamp post on methenphedamine.
At least here at the bottom with you is witty, clever, and fun.
I figure, there is no danger of me committing suicide, so what is the harm of having the self-esteem of a toaster?
However, I am having a REALLY good day on Kazaa today, I have nearly completed the download of the entire Xenosaga Sound Track (which I will buy as soon as it presents itself to me) and features some of the greatest songs yet from Yasunori Mitsuda.
I think the kid behind me is sick and tired of hearing the songs - So I'm going to turn it up. . . heh heh heh.
To end this little "thought" of mine. I figure I am going to give up on love at all. Besides, I'm better off NOT getting married. Then I don't have to dump my earnings in an economic black hole (wife and kids). All that extra money means more stuff for me! And I can paintball more often.

thank you for the comment your poetry is wonderful..
as for your problem... i agree with darkryuujin.
i know what it's like to be afraid to jeopardize a relationship.. I've been feeling things towards one of my friends, and literally last night she found out.. she felt the same way, and now I couldn't be happier.
proceed with caution, but do proceed.

My advice - I have no room to talk, I love one of my friends, and have yet to tell her (I know its love and not some stupid crush though) and I'm just going to tell her - and hopefully it'll work out.
But, what you should do (depending on how this person is) is tell her that you have that feeling about her lately, and then laugh about it. Act like its no big deal. That's just what I say.
Carry on!

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.
