May I suggest to you to watch Jekyll and Hyde the new TV show by ITV (Which I think is in England). They took a more fantasy approach and it is fast forwarded 50 years and is about Henry Jekyll's grandson Robert Jekyll.
The only two names they keep the same is Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde, but otherwise the origin story is very similar.
