i read some of your poems. they're spiffy ^_^ .
well, all the ones i read were good and didn't really need specific comments (and so i didn't leave any). good thoughts behind the ones i read, but i would really like to see some more style in your writing (they just don't have much of a sound to them. rhymes and rhytm, is all. and an inverted sentence or two.). and i definetly want to see how you'd go about something that isn't free verse (maybe you've got something up that isn't, i'll be tackling the rest for a while)!
and a metaphor or two kinda just left me without explaination (can't remember which pieces). i'm not great at breaking down poetry, though, so don't ask me, just something that you might be able to use, and so i'd rather annoy you than say nothing. *nods*
and to be redundant:

thank you for your honesty.

i was somewhat chagrined to see the poem featured as DP. it's not even in the top half of the works i've written.
it was personal and dashed off in about 30 minutes to describe a moment that took place. i agree wholeheartedly that it does not have a lot of literary merit; it was never intended to be evaluated on that basis.

but i must take issue with the rest of your comment. your opinions on love are just that- your opinions. they certainly have little bearing on the truth of what that poem described and still describes. i've been 16 (10 years ago), and i know it's tempting around that age to condemn love and hopes thereof as fatuous hopes and embraced illusions. so i do understand where you're coming from. when i was your age, i'd quote plato: "love is a grave mental disease."but over the years, i came to believe that pessimism towards love is cliched and small-minded (and that it is rather rude to express said pessimism to a happily married couple).

however, i appreciate your willingness to deviate from the all-too-common and utterly useless "omg i love this +fav".
