Those Transformers X TMNT commission pieces were specifically requested by the person who requested them. I don't think we got into a Raph X TF piece (sadly, him being my fave Turtle). I'd have to talk to him bout that last piece.  

If it were up to me, I'd love to pair him with another hot head punk, Hot Rod. Red, and both with something "claw"-ish.

definitely! I used to watch TMNT on Sunday Tv's , the cartoon made a deep mark in me, good childhood memories sir! seeing your run on the series made it perfect i'll have an autograph copy of your work sir!

Just always put your heart in your art, don't come at it just as a means to earn money (cause comics really are products of ridiculous hard labor & ungodly hours). And it may sound cliche, but it's not & really is a major requirement: practice, practice, practice (we all do). With all of these & some good fortune, you should be on your way. Good luck.

Thanks, Elvin. It was a very personal article for me given that I along with our entire family experienced first hand the terrible wrath of last year's Ondoy super typhoon. This was round the time we were starting work on Liquid City...which, if the tragedy didn't hit, would have seen me contributing sequential art rather than just the pin-up.

I remember the timing of the Liquid City schedule at that time. And it's a great pity cuz seeing your initial pages for your first proposal, i was excited at seeing a full story from you! But maybe it's just as well as I felt your article (and compilation of images) was very strong and compelling! We who stay in Singapore have been spoilt by being in a safe location from natural disasters and it's so easy to take it for granted until we hear about what our regional neighbors have to go through!

Anyway, I'm glad you came out of that stronger and i hope all your family and friends are ok as well! That's the most important thing cuz there will always other opportunities (cross fingers for Liquid City 3 heh) to contribute to comics. You have such a positive spirit in the article. I think if it happened to me i would just crumble!

I just read your updates! Will check out Fear Agent 29 if the shop has it!

Resilient, that's one of our greatest traits as a nation. We made it through countless invasions by different nations in our history, numerous natural disasters, and coups in the past...virtually every crap that can be thrown, we managed through em all. That's one of the blessings of our country that I'm happy to see in me, and mostly everyone. Rather than bawl over and be defeated, you just gotta grit your teeth and battle through.

And yeah, it kinda suck that I wasn't able to continue with my proposal for the vol.2. Here's hoping the next time around I do get another crack at it. Just got my copy earlier, and WOW! That book's massive! MASSIVE! Not only in size and page, but the talent and art involved! Your's alone is quite a feat, with that length of your contribution! Great job, Elvin! I just scanned it, and will have to reserve a day to enjoy that beauty properly.

Regarding Fear Agent 29, I'm not sure Kino sells single issues, but I'm sure the more special shops like Absolute Comics might be able to carry the title. I was there in Sg for like 2 weeks round Feb, and only got to visit a few comics/hobby shops. Hopefully this time round, I get to tour the cooler spots more. Maybe with you guys' recommendations.

Yea Kino doesn't really specialize in single issues so will check out the single shops! And totally looking forward to meeting you! I'm a lousy tour guide but let me know what rocks your boat besides comics and I'll look into places of interest for ya! We have a small retro toy museum here too you might wanna check out!

Nope, kept the pin-up art exclusive till the book hits shelves. I love that piece a lot, given it's my first major pin-up work. Pretty laborious than the usual single pages, but hella fun. I might have the line art posted here soon.
