Hey!
I was thinking back to when i first had my camera and i thought of some things that might help you.

1. ISO Setting
My first pictures were blurry. I was frustrated because I thought I had this wonderful camera, and why do i still get these unprofessional images. When shooting a fast subject your ISO should be higher. The higher your ISO setting, the more noise grain you receive in your photos. When wanting a detailed shot of something use the lowest ISO setting without your subject blurring. You can always use a tripod for insured stability. For example on my picture "Harmony" I used an ISO setting of 100, and a tripod. The light was very low so a tripod was essential to capture the mood I wanted.

2. RAW format
Most Digital SLRs have the choice of shooting in "RAW format". RAW format is basically the picture you took without any camera editing. The only concern with RAW is you need to be careful how much you shoot in RAW, because the files are usually 10-15 MB. The benefit of RAW is amazing. You can adjust the brightness, the color temperature, exposure, and a lot more.

3. Focusing
You can either manual focus, or auto focus. You find out that both are good for certain events. For instance, at a sporting event you would want to use auto focus, because if you are manual focusing you might loose the prefect shoot you've been waiting for. When shooting use close subjects experiment with the focus. Try focusing the foreground, and then the background. Don't be afraid to shoot a lot of pictures. That is the beauty of digital photography, you can always delete them.


4. ALWAYS check settings
I know on my camera sometimes it keeps the settings I had set to shoot a certain subject. I have made many mistakes because when shooting a sunset I was using settings i had previously shot for snow. Always check your settings before pressing the shutter.

Have you noticed the new mature content filter? Anyone under 18 is unable to view deviations tagged as mature at all. We used to be able to hit "show mature content," but are now unable to.

You're a really good writer, and I thought maybe you could write a DA news article on the unfairness of it. I'm trying to get Logan to, and I'm thinking of writing one myself, but we need as many as people as possible to get through the admins' thick heads that age is a number and nothing more.

Ergh, sorry if I go ranty, but this really pisses me off. >.<
