I saw it and just had to say: I love the top half of your sig. It's funny as hell.

Hi there,
I believe you have works in your gallery that do not belong to you, and thus you may be violating copyright laws. Just so you know, dA prohibits the submission of work that is not yours without proper permission given by the original artist. Creations that were made by using generators, whether on dA or off-site, should be submitted to Scraps and not to your main gallery. If you wish to know more, please read the following FAQs:
FAQ #8: What are violations of the deviantART copyright policy?
FAQ #502: Can I submit 'Dolls', 'Characters' or other things which I made on certain websites in games or with 'generators'?
FAQ #157: Can I use things created by other people in my submissions?
FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?
Please remove the deviations that you did not create from your gallery, as copyright violation is a bannable offence.
And just to let you know, the artist of DragonAdopters has a page here. I don't think he'd be very happy to see you submitting his pixel dragons into your gallery, especially that it's very easy to contact him.
Thank you, and have a good day.

For those deviations, I have given full credit to the creator of the dragon images. You can see so in the artist comments. Many people submit those kinds of pictures to DA. *THAZumi owns the dragonadopters site. If you research "dragonadopters" in the search bar, you will see many of these deviations. Hopefully all of the users that post those gave him credit. I'm sorry, it has taken me a while to figure out how to credit the original artist properly.

Simply crediting the artist is not allowed. One of the FAQs that I have given you will explain why. Please read all of them before replying to me, I do not give FAQs without reason. FYI, I am also a member of DragonAdopters. I do know their site, and I do know the artist.
Just because other people do it, doesn't mean you can too. Essentially you are following the analogy of "If others are jumping off a cliff, I should do it too." You have no reason to submit those works at all - the little pixel adoptables/banners at the bottom of your dragons can be posted in your devID or journal, and people from dA can visit them as well. If you want to see such an example, you can view my devID.
Whatever they are, they are still not your works. I am sorry if this seems rather uptight of dA, but rules are rules, and must be followed.

now i dont mean to get in any trouble or anything but do you have any friends? with an aditude like that how could anyonne like you. no offense but the kid tried to give credit therefore it would not be "pladgerism" because he did not say it was entirely his work. there is absolutely no reson to go through life corecting people like that. whats the point? think about it.

What's the point? The point that, whether or not he said it was his, it was against the rules of deviantART. My attitude may be stiff, but I gave the FAQs and showed that I'm not just making everything up. I could be a lot worse and be like other reporters, and just report everything to hell or threaten him, did you know that? But no, I have some faith in him, I like being polite, and I trust him to remove things. I prefer to tell people before they get the harsher reporters on their tails.
And I have a different personality than when doing my job, for your information, so think before you even make an assumption about someone you've only seen through the internet. I don't even get why you're dredging this up, this is old now.

yeah, well im just saying why? just think about it. and dont get all huffed up or anything. besides, #1, im pretty good at telling personalities through the internet because most people dont know how to hide who they are, by what they type. #2 that just rude. and i take offence to the fact that you said i made an assumtion on who you are. #3 its not your job to tell people what theryre doing wrong. id be fine with you making him take it off if you were the one who made it, but your not are you? stop being so nosey. if the guy has a problem with those posts, by all means take them off! but dont just assume someone bothered with it. i dont like fights and i dont like being in one with you. but thnk, if everyone always followed the rules it would be so dull in life. and, think about the person your telling to put them down. im sure most the time the pore things get scared by what sounds like a threat. you could easily tell muffin niffum was scared. does that make you fell good? live your own life, do your own thing, and leave the rules to the officials.

"yeah, well im just saying why? just think about it"
What is there to think about? How is explaining the rules to someone suppose to identify how many friends a person has? I see no logic to that claim of yours.
"im pretty good at telling personalities through the internet"
Ha ha...oh, you are being serious? So, by looking at one comment from someone, you automatically know their personality. Sorry to break this to you, kid, but you can't understand someone's personality until you actually get to know the person. Looking at a few comments is not going to help you fully understand that. If a few comments from someone actually does show one's personality....then your personality isn't so great. Just saying.
"i take offence to the fact that you said i made an assumtion on who you are."
But...you just did. You thought that *arcturus17 has no friends because he was actually warning someone of violations. Being warned of that is not a bad thing, I really don't see why people complain about. Better for someone else to warn you than to have the admins see it. So, in a way, *arcturus17 was doing a favor for a random stranger. That shows kindness, especially since he said it in a calm manner. How is that a bad quality that would result in him being "friendless"?
"but thnk, if everyone always followed the rules it would be so dull in life."
Hmmm, let me explain. By making an account, we all agree to follow deviantART's terms of service and policies (AKA "the rules"). If you don't like how someone was simply reminding someone of the rules that most deviants fail to understand, tough luck. Go to some other art site then.
And like ~DeadlyTeaParty said, "nothing would be sacred". Without rules in this art site, every piece of art would be up for grabs. Anyone can steal artwork and claim it as their own.
"live your own life, do your own thing, and leave the rules to the officials."
There is a reason for the report button that the admins provided everyone. And there is a reason for the help desk. If someone sees a violation, we should report it. The admins can't see everything that is going on in this website.
And like I said before, *arcturus17 did a nice thing by warning ~muffin-niffum of his violations. I'm sure even ~muffin-niffum would agree with me, especially since by removing the stolen deviations, he won't get in trouble with the admins.

DeadlyTeaParty In reply to tummyparty [2010-03-11 23:15:17 +0000 UTC]
If no one followed the rules, then nothing would be sacred. Anything you make could be stolen and claimed by someone else and no one would care if it upset you or not. That's one reason why there are copyright rules in place on dA.
*arcturus17 was very formal, informative and polite in telling this deviant about the rules so they could make the corrections themselves as opposed to having the admins suddenly deleting everything, or having a flame war break out. And informing others of helpful things isn't really that nosy. It's called being helpful.
It doesn't matter if someone was bothered by it or not, these are the sites rules. Breaking them could mean being banned from the site.
Sorry, but I firmly disbelieve that you can judge someone through the internet due to how anonymous the internet is unless you've talked with them for awhile. And what business do you have in saying that people wouldn't be friends with him based on one post he made? That is very judgmental on your part and a very poor one at that. It was also very rude that you would even ask such a question. It would be like me assuming you're an underage user who can't type that well...but I don't know you so I know I can't accuse you of being that. If you wish to be treated fairly, think about what you type. The way your typing thins out makes it sound like you are spoiling for a fight.
And the admins made the report button for a reason. Hundreds upon thousands of works and users come here daily and it's next to impossible for the staff to handle it all. So the admins made the report button so that normal users can help keep dA relatively theft and pornography free so everyone can enjoy it and feel comfortable with putting very personal work up.

Please recheck your gallery. Anything that is not created by you, even with using generators, is not allowed in your gallery. I have noticed some works that are not yours are still remaining there.
