I left for the center, came back from the mexico, turned right on the unicorn horn, found a girl with tail, gathered 100 pony collection, had some rough time, got a artjob, year after quit it for the freelancer life burned and raw but inspired, and now I'm trailblazing for the next universe for whatever rotten promises it will hold for me, shining and twisting like snake without eyes, golden and shining like final death, holding torch for only the brave and foolish.
Yeah, thats where i am.

Hullo there
Conceptart atelier does not exist anymore, though it has changed into safehouse atelier which has sameteachers but no connection to jason manley:
www.thesafehouseatelier.com/
It's a good place to learn, but If i were you, CDA is the best place right now, i have experience with both:

You've discovered my witchcraft!
And you found your way back... maybe just because you know they were infused in lsd.

(Now i will tell you a secret, i learning to draw humans in order to draw something else better. Humans are important byproduct of this, important but still a byproduct. When i will be able to draw humans quite "good" and fast, think how that skill of posture, balance, speed and sheer drawing mechanism will transfer itself into other subjects...)

yeah, i am. Nettle_mountain is my name over there. I just drawed 120 30s poses from posemaniac, really addicting stuff but my hand aches.
Does this ever happend to you?
π: 0 β©: 1
algenpfleger In reply to matsurus [2008-02-19 16:52:40 +0000 UTC]
well, it does happen to me that i draw an insane amount of poses, but my hand never hruts. ive been playing drums since almost 12 years, so my wrists are... pretty strong, lol, and i always try to draw from the arm and elbow, because otherwise it could be harmful for the hand.
check out yoitisi's island in the mentoring section, he's got some awesome line exercises there, for strengthening the hand and eye and stuff like that.

hi there yourself, these days in a man with a mission so you don't see me here for a while, maybe never again!!! (dramatic music)
I'm learning to draw humans at CA, extremely hard stuff but i take the long view on this project, like 1-3 years to accomplish.

How do you get your water colours to look so good in the computer? Do you scan them? I've been photographing mine and they end up so dingy . . .
Love your stuff, btw, it's an inspiration.
π: 0 β©: 1
matsurus In reply to yumi [2007-12-13 21:21:34 +0000 UTC]
Well cut the long story into long story:
-Scan them 300dp
-Make sure you have photoshop
-Use following functions for retouching colours: Saturation, levels, contrast, selective colour, channel mixer.
-You learn to use these by success and error, put preview on when you are using these (from down left corner) and see how your images change
-If you wannabe real pro, you use curves, but it needs practise. Scourge for some tutorial
-That's all, ask more if you need

Thanks! Hard to scan 22"x15" though. Maybe I'll just start painting smaller!
